Finding Peace in a Busy Life: A Simple Walk That Changed My Day

Working every day comes with its own kind of sacrifice. Every night, before our eyes finally close, work is still on our mind. And every morning, the moment we open our eyes, its work again that pushes us to get up. That constant cycle of pressure, deadlines and responsibilities – can slowly build anxiety. Many people think working from home is easier, that it offers more opportunities. But the truth is, Work from Home comes with its wo silent battles. Back pain from sitting too long, stress from endless tasks and the loneliness of having no officemates in person to laugh or talk with.

That’s why unwinding becomes more than just a hobby, it becomes a necessity. Going out alone, even for a short walk, can bring a fresh wave of peace. Sometimes, a quite moment in the park is all we need to breathe again, to untangle our thoughts, and to remind ourselves of the life we want to live. During one of my simple walks, I realized many things. Life is truly beautiful when we continue dreaming and even more beautiful when we see small signs that those dreams are slowly coming true.

Near our home is a park I often visit before going to the market. And every time, the fist thing that greets me is the statue of the Philippine Eagle, it made me wonder, why the Philippines Eagle? The answer is inspiring. The Philippine Eagle symbolizes strength, courage and resilience – qualities we all need in this life. It reminds us to rise above challenges, to soar even when the winds are strong, and to protect our dreams the same way this eagle protects its nest. It is a powerful representation of our identity as Filipinos, brave, hopeful and capable of facing anything life brings.

As I continued walking, I noticed different animals’ statues around the park. They were beautifully carved and I couldn’t help but smile thinking how happy children must be every time they see these figures. Parks like these remind us that joy can be simple. Sometimes, its in quite corners, smiling statues, or open spaces where our thoughts can finally rest.

At the end of the day, may we always find time to breathe to pause and to appreciate the little things that help us keep going. Life may be tiring, but its is also full of gentle reminders that we are stronger than we think. 🍃
