A Trip To a Supposedly Remote Town

Old houses with old-styled architecture are not uncommon in places like these. These buildings usually belong to a lineage of descendants of the original builders

Recently, I've been on the road again travelling to nearby towns in Ibadan and its environs. This time I went to cover a photography event in a town called Ipetu-Ijesha.

Ipetu-Ijesha is a small town located in Osun State, not far away from Ile-Ife, the seat of Yoruba heritage in Nigeria.
Though not exactly a common place of visit it would probably surprise you that this place is home to the popular Erin-Ijesha/Olumirin waterfalls and is regarded as one of the originators of weaving in this part of Nigeria.

Well, I did not get to visit these places anyway as I was engaged at the event I travelled for.
The journey was however an unexpectedly long one to and fro.
Along the road especially, closer to Ibadan, one would find a number of industrial areas and undeveloped arable land, already cut out for potential real estate development.

Hills are always a thing I capture when I travel around, and they did have a few hills.

This place was also the location of the Ijesha North East Diocese Anglican Communion and the seat of the Bishop.

So despite being a probably "small" village, it had a few things to boast about, though old. I guess it's after all not all that small.
