#historyonleo #onthisday On December 29th 1890 at Wounded Knee Creek, South Dakota, US Army, while trying to suppress Ghost Dance movement that spurred in Indian reservations, kills 300 Lakotas, including many women in children, in massacre which is the last and the most infamous of all major events of Indian Wars. Site of the massacre was in 1973 taken over by American Indian Movement (AIM) militants leading to months-long siege by federal authorities.
