It's the de minimis exemption for low-value shipments under $800. Trump suspended it, calling it a scam that evades tariffs and harms US workers. Plans to end it worldwide by mid-2027

What is the de minimis exemption? Please give me info on that.
The de minimis exemption let shipments under $800 enter the US without tariffs or much paperwork. It was meant for small personal stuff, but online retailers exploited it to avoid duties on mass imports.
Does that mean anyone who buys souveniers when on vacation will have to pay tariffs on them?
Not entirely sure on that. I think it mainly targets commercial shipments, so personal souvenirs might still be okay under different rules. Haven't dug into the fine print though
What are some other tariff rules that the Trump administration implemented? The rates get a lot of attention but I would like a list of some of the regulations or rules they put in.
Haven't dug too deep into all the specifics, but I know Trump’s admin has pushed reciprocal tariffs, emergency tariffs under IEEPA, and targeted rules on low-value imports. Lots of focus on protecting US jobs and manufacturing
