The last weekend of 2023

Hello, Hello, dear friends, how have you spent this week, can you believe that January is about to end, it is incredible, but it seems that someone has been accelerating the speed of the sun and also have raised a little to its intensity, because January has been a hot month and at least in my region this did not happen.

On the other hand, this week has been intense, we have been sick, I don't know, but I am an expert in catching viruses. I think this year I should focus on raising my defenses and those of my family as well. Before time goes on and we start talking about Carnival, I wanted to share with you a little bit of what was my last weekend of 2023, one of the most special of the year.

When we know that the year is about to end, our mind begins to remember everything we have lived and everything we would like to live the following year, then we begin to feel that mix of emotions, between joy and nostalgia. In 2023, all this was experienced precisely in one weekend.

I started Friday with the culmination of an important goal for me. I spent the last few months preparing for a remote work opportunity and this became a challenge, especially because of the time I had to dedicate the last three months. But December 29th was my graduation and it was a fantastic Friday, I had never laughed so much, all the team members were happy and everything turned into a big virtual party. You know that the satisfaction of completing a goal is like nothing else. And besides, I added new names to my list of virtual friends.

Saturday was my dream day for a long time and my son's as well, we went back to that place where you feel safe and secure, to the arms of mom and dad. That emotion doesn't change as the years go by, at least not for me. I would give anything to have my parents closer. We arrived and my son had presents waiting for him, so I couldn't have been more anxious to get there.

We arrived and it didn't take long to start preparing Hallacas, this is the Christmas dish of my country and they are prepared as a family, I think this is what makes it so delicious, my sister marinated the meat, we are from the Andes, and the hallacas of my region are made with a stew of raw meat, well seasoned, with herbs from our garden. My mom prepared the corn dough and we all put together the hallaca, and finally my brother tied them, a task I don't envy at all, hahaha. And my dad was in charge of the wood fire. Once the hallacas are ready, they go on the fire for at least two hours.

They were spectacular and we all enjoyed it together on Sunday, the last day of the year, which we ended with a big hug. I don't have any pictures of this night, my phone was lost, fortunately it turned up the next day, but you know I really enjoyed it. I love these people. And I love having the opportunity to share all these experiences with you.

That was my last weekend, now we just have to collect new experiences and try to give the best of us so that everything goes well.

Until next time, a million blessings to your families.
