Lusitanos: A theme park inspired by Spain and the passion for horses.

Today I am very happy to share with you a wonderful experience that I had the opportunity to live with my family last weekend. Where the architecture and the atmosphere of this place left me in love and eager to return.
Welcome to Lusitanos, a theme park inspired by Spain and the passion for the beautiful horses "Lusitanos".
Lusitanos is located on the outskirts of the city of Ejido, specifically in the San Onofre Sector, Merida, Venezuela, is a park that was born from the dream of maintaining the family tradition and passion for horses, which has passed from generation to generation. The park is named after the best breed of Paso horses, who are the main protagonists of this beautiful place.
Last week "The Horse Fair" was celebrated and as my little son and I love these noble and beautiful animals, we wanted to spend a different family time and visit this place, which we felt was inaccessible to us, but we could not be more wrong.
We arrived at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon, I was very excited, because I had wanted to visit it for several years. The park is very large and everything is enclosed by a perimeter wall, with a rustic finish on the walls and culminating with Creole tiles.
The parking lot is limited with wrought iron railings with decorative details, with a shield, the columns are covered with brick and culminates with a lantern with a horse motif.
Hola queridos amigos de Arquitectura y diseño, quiero enviarles mis mejores deseos para estas navidades y que las bendiciones rodeen cada una de sus vidas y sus familias. Hoy estoy muy feliz de compartir con ustedes una experiencia maravillosa, que tuve la oportunidad de vivir junto a mi familia, el pasado fin de semana. Donde la arquitectura y el ambiente de este lugar me dejo enamorada y con ganas de volver.
Sean bienvenidos a Lusitanos, un parque temático inspirado en España y en la pasión por los bellos y hermosos caballos de paso "Lusitanos".
Lusitanos está ubicado en las afueras de la ciudad de Ejido, específicamente en el Sector San Onofre, Mérida, Venezuela, es un parque que nació del sueño de mantener la tradición familiar y la pasión por los caballos, que ha pasado de generación en generación. El parque lleva el nombre de la mejor raza de caballos de paso, quienes son los principales protagonistas de este bello lugar.
La semana pasada se celebró "La feria del caballo" y como a mi pequeño hijo y a mí, nos encantan estos nobles y bellos animales, quisimos pasar un rato familiar diferente y conocer este lugar, el cual sentíamos que era inaccesible para nosotros, pero no podíamos estar más equivocados.
Llegamos a eso de las 3 de la tarde, yo estaba muy emocionada, porque tenía ya varios años con ganas de conocerlo. El parque es muy grande y todo está cercado por una pared perimetral, con un acabado en el revestimiento de las paredes rústico y que culmina con tejas criollas.
El estacionamiento se encuentra limitado con rejas en hierro forjado con detalles decorativos, con un escudo, las columnas estas recubiertas con ladrillo y culmina con un farol con motivo de caballos.
The parking lot is quite large and free, and is located on the outskirts of the park, where there is security.
El estacionamiento es bastante amplio y gratuito, está ubicado en las afueras del parque, donde cuentan con seguridad.}
The main facade is beautiful, it has a lot of character and reminds me in a way of medieval architecture, at the bottom we find a beautiful arch that welcomes us and some iron railings that also have the same shield, which makes me very curious to know its meaning. At the top we find the name of the park, in white letters with a striking font says "Lusitano's" and smaller red letters say: "theme park". On the sides we have two elongated windows that culminate in an arch and in the center under the ridge we have a circle. I love the siding and the finish of the facade. Its color and shape form a perfect balance.
La fachada principal es hermosa, tiene mucho carácter y me recuerda en cierta manera a la arquitectura medieval, en la parte inferior encontramos un hermoso arco que nos da la bienvenida y unas rejas en hierro que también tienen el mismo escudo, el cual me genera mucha curiosidad por saber su significado. En la parte superior encontramos el Nombre del parque, en letras blancas con una fuente llamativa dice "Lusitano´s" y las letras más pequeñas de color rojo dicen: "parque temático". A los costados tenemos dos ventanas alargadas que culminan en arco y en el centro debajo de la cumbrera tenemos un círculo. Me encanta el revestimiento y el acabado de la fachada. Su color y su forma forman un equilibrio perfecto.
The Reception
La Recepción
Upon entering we have the reception, where we were greeted kindly, best of all, is that we were informed that access is completely free. On the floor, I found this mosaic, which I loved, it is like a map with a compass, with many details, certainly a very nice work.
Another thing that I really liked about the reception is the solid wood door, which in turn, has a small door in one of its leaves, the wood, looks very thick, with a nice design, which unfortunately I did not manage to capture in the photo.
Al entrar tenemos la recepción, donde nos recibieron amablemente, lo mejor de todo, es que nos informaron que el acceso es completamente gratuito. En el piso, encontré este mosaico, que me encanto, es como un mapa con una brújula, con muchos detalles, sin duda una obra muy bonita.
Otra de las cosas que me gusto mucho de la recepción es la puerta en madera maciza, que a su vez, tiene una pequeña puerta en una de sus hojas, la madera, se ve de gran espesor, con un lindo diseño, que lamentablemente no logre capturar en la foto.
Boulevard Avanti
Once we crossed the door, we found one of my favorite areas, a very picturesque boulevard, where we have a cafeteria, pizzeria and a bakery, I love all the elements of the place and how you feel like you are walking the streets of a city, it is called Avanti and in it we have on one side a gallery of brick arches decorated with vegetation that gives a touch of naturalness and a beautiful lighting and on the other side the stores that I mentioned, marked with very nice wooden signs with iron details and an ornamental plant.
We can also observe a very interesting wood-fired oven.
Una vez cruzamos la puerta, encontramos una de mis áreas favoritas, Un Boulevar muy pintoresco, donde tenemos una cafetería, pizzería y una panadería, me encantan todos los elementos del lugar y como sientes que estás recorriendo las calles de alguna ciudad, se llama Avanti y en él tenemos de un lado una galería de arcos en ladrillos decorados con vegetación que le da un toque de naturalidad y una hermosa iluminación y del otro lado las tiendas que ya mencione, señaladas con unos letreros en madera muy bonitos con detalles en hierro y una planta ornamental.
También podemos observar un horno a la leña bastante interesante.
Castilla Street

At the end of this corridor we found the so-called castilla street, I really like that throughout the park we find these signs, which tells us the name and where each space is located. This is a corridor that leads us to the different environments, here we find some planters with ornaments related to horses and a wall with beautiful murals related to the architecture of several European countries and the capital of our country, Caracas. In addition, we find some elements such as fireplaces and items related to the stables such as wheels and more.
Al finalizar este pasillo encontramos la llamada calle castilla, me gusta mucho que en todo el parque encontramos estos avisos, que nos indica el nombre y en donde está ubicado cada espacio. Este es un pasillo que nos lleva a los distintos ambientes, aquí encontramos algunas jardineras con adornos relacionados a los caballos y una pared con hermosos murales relacionados con la arquitectura de varios países de Europa y de la capital de nuestro país, Caracas. Además, encontramos algunos elementos como chimeneas y artículos relacionados con las caballerizas como ruedas y más.

As we are in the Christmas season we also found a very peculiar nativity scene, I had never seen one of this style and I loved it.
Como estamos en la época decembrina encontramos también un nacimiento bastante peculiar, nunca había visto uno de este estilo y me encanto.
The bullring
La plaza de toros
In front of the murals we have this replica of a bullring, a place for equestrian shows and for children and the general public to interact with the horses, even receive riding lessons.
It is a circular area with a red half wall with beautiful decorative details, which allows visitors to get a full view of the entire bullring. The color makes a perfect contrast with the nature in the background.
Al frente de los murales tenemos esta réplica de una plaza de toros, un lugar destinado para los shows ecuestres y para que los niños y público en general pueda interactuar con los caballos, incluso recibir clases de equitación.
Se trata de un área circular con una media pared roja con bonitos detalles decorativos, que permite a los visitantes obtener una visual completa de toda la plaza de toros. El color hace un contraste perfecto con la naturaleza del fondo.
America Room

At the end of Castille Street, we find the America Hall, it maintains the same style as the main facade, but its geometry is rectangular, it is a large space, where sometimes, events and exhibitions are held.
Al finalizar la calle Castilla, encontramos el Salón América, mantiene el mismo estilo que la fachada principal, pero su geometría es rectangular, es un espacio grande, donde en ocasiones, realizan eventos y exposiciones.
Restaurant Lusitanos
Next to the America room we find the main restaurant, its facade is also beautiful, here we see the name of the restaurant and some beautiful pots and two lanterns with decorations related to horses, its door is made of glass with two sheets. In this area is the main cashier, where you cancel everything you consume, regardless of the environment.
I love how this area looks, the lines, its geometry, all with an elegant and modern look.
The interior is beautiful, what I liked most, are the lamps with an interesting curved geometry, everything is very neat and with a very harmonious atmosphere, yes, this restaurant is by reservation.
Al lado del salón América encontramos el restaurante principal, su fachada también es hermosa, aquí vemos el nombre del restaurante y unas macetas hermosas y dos faroles con decoraciones relacionadas con los caballos, su puerta es de vidrio a dos hojas. En esta área se encuentra la caja principal, donde se cancela, todo lo que consumas, independientemente del ambiente.
Me encanta como se ve esta área, las líneas, su geometría, todo con un aspecto elegante y moderno.
El interior es hermoso, lo que más me gusto, son las lámparas con una geometría curva interesante, todo es muy pulcro y con un ambiente muy armónico, eso sí, este restaurante es bajo reservación.
On the outside are the best tables, as they have a better view of the equestrian show that takes place every 20 or 30 minutes. In this wide corridor we have a series of columns that intertwine with pointed arches, It is a very cool environment from where you can enjoy a delicious meal and all the shows they offer at the same time, in addition to the bar.
I really like the intersection of the ceilings, which gives a very attractive side facade to the restaurant.
En la parte exterior se encuentran las mejores mesas, ya que tienen una mejor visual del show ecuestre que se da cada 20 o 30 minutos. En este amplio corredor tenemos una serie de columnas que se entrelazan con arcos puntiagudos, Es un ambiente muy fresco desde donde puedes disfrutar de una rica comida y de todos los shows que ofrecen al mismo tiempo, además del bar.
Me gusta mucho la intersección de los techos, lo que le da una fachada lateral bastante atractiva al restaurante.
On the other side we have another more relaxed outdoor environment, from where you can also watch the horse show and also see the stables, this environment is decorated with artificial vegetation and beautiful lamps.
Del otro lado tenemos otro ambiente al aire libre más relajado, desde donde también puedes ver tranquilamente el show ecuestre y también ver las caballerizas, este ambiente se encuentra decorado con vegetación artificial y unas lindas lámparas.
Central Stage

In the middle of all the environments we have a central patio with a stage, which brings together all visitors to enjoy an equestrian show and flamenco dances, which are presented several times per hour, is limited by a circular concrete curbstone with planters, at the bottom is the stage, with everything necessary for live musical performances.
En medio de todos los ambientes tenemos un patio central con una tarima, que reúne a todos los visitantes para que disfruten de un show ecuestre y bailes de flamenco, que se presentan varias veces por hora, está limitado por un brocal en concreto circular con jardineras, al fondo está la tarima, con todo lo necesario para presentaciones musicales en vivo.
The Stables
Las Caballerizas
Behind the stage, we find a huge shed, where they prepare before each show, while the public can also enjoy this, in some metallic bleachers overlooking this area and the stables. I love the curved roof of the shed, this kind of metallic trusses, have always called my attention, since I took a subject, called steel structures at the university, in all the walls we find some pictures, related to Spain, equestrian art and the family of the owners.
I had never visited a place like this before, it was certainly a great experience in every way. As for its design, I love how everything was thought out, so that even though there are different environments, they all come together harmoniously and from every corner you can enjoy the different shows that make this park unique.
Detrás del escenario, encontramos un galpón enorme, donde se preparan antes de cada show, mientras el público también puede disfrutar de esto, en unas gradas metálicas con vistas a esta zona y las caballerizas. Me encanta el techo curvo del galpón, este tipo de cerchas metálicas, siempre han llamado mi atención, desde que curse una materia, llamada estructuras de acero en la universidad, en todas las paredes encontramos algunos cuadros, relacionados con España, el arte ecuestre y la familia de los dueños.
Nunca había visitado un lugar así, sin duda fue una gran experiencia, en todos los sentidos. En cuanto a su diseño, me encanta como todo fue pensado, para que a pesar de que se tienen distintos ambientes, todos se unan de manera armónica y desde cada rincón se pueda disfrutar de los distintos shows que hacen único este parque.
The natural environment

As if that were not enough, from Lusitanos you have a privileged view of an incredible natural landscape that gives us the imposing mountains of the Andean Cordillera.
Por si fuero poco, desde Lusitanos tienes una vista privilegiada de un paisaje natural increíble que nos regala las imponentes montañas de la cordillera andina.
Without a doubt, Lusitanos is a necessary stop if you are visiting Mérida, even though it is far from the center of the city, it is worth a visit to enjoy the Spanish culture, its architecture, flamenco and of course its noble hosts, the beautiful Lusitanos horses.
Sin duda, Lusitanos es una parada necesaria, si te encuentras de visita en Mérida, a pesar de estar alejado del centro de la ciudad, vale la pena visitarlo, disfrutar de la cultura Española, su arquitectura, el flamenco y por supuesto de sus nobles anfitriones los hermosos caballos Lusitanos.

Wow, my friend, that was quite a complete tour you did. I was really struck by the theme that you have corridors that lead to different places, very creative and cute in the place.
