The REENIE Tote

#needlework

So you all remember when I designed “Reenie”, the pink gradient ruffle hat. Well I got bored and free and worked up a little pixie dust.

I'm a tote bag person which may come as a shocker but I like big bags so I was like. “Wait, the ruffled hat can definitely come in a set with a bag rightttttt” and it clicked. I ran off to design the piece obviously and I got this design.

Same gradients different volumes [is it called volumes I mean the color proportion] I dunno no but yeah the color thingy.

I started out with black is till don't remember why but I did not want the part that'll be resting on a surface to be a light color. I still dunno why I had that idea but yeah that was it I did a few rows and changed color.

Like I said the idea was to balance the colors out on the bag, so I put the two lighter shades in the middle and the darker shade somehow makes them a sandwich if that makes any sense at all

For the first color I did more rows so it would stand out. I switched to the next color and then the third shade. Like I mentioned earlier I wanted to make a sandwich out of the colors so I went I'm again with my dark shade of rose pink.

I made its length by using my leather tote bag to measure. I love the size and everything so when I was making a tote best I used it to measure.

After the body was the sleeves. I made it a little longer than the hands on the leather bag so I could get more space when I wear it and the last step was to add the criss Cross design.

This was a bit though I doubled the yarn to make it so it will be thick and when I finished it was measuring to have the best spacing for the bag and then putting the straps in the space.

Putting the first strap on was easy. Duplicating the work was nah. It took a while but I got it in the end. I chopped off the ends that were sticking out and it was time to look at my finished piece.

It took a while but yeah like I always say the end result was totally work every stitch, every minute and every hour.

Like we do it here you know every project get its own little photoshoot after the making and this one was definitely not left out.

20250115_130700.jpg

I love how it turned out and I can't wait to get on my next project. I'd definitely be here screaming about it once I figure out what it is.
