Sunshine on a Keychain
I've never been one to be fond of making crochet keychains. I just stayed away from it. I probably thought I would not like the experience or maybe I wouldn't enjoy it but obviously I was wrong and trust me to fill you in on the details.
Everyday I post design inspirations on my status. It helps people pick the designs they want to make without sourcing for it themselves.
This day was different, my eldest sister saw an image of a sunflower keychain, she asked the price and all that I replied to her but I had a different plan in mind.
I haven't made her anything before at least not directly she mostly sees what she likes and takes it so I figured If I was going to start gifting her I can start by tasting these dangerous waters.
Her taking an interest in the keychain inspired me to try making one. And it was amazing and confusing in the beginning but totally worth it.
I almost never work with 2ply yarn. I doubt the yarn was fully that. I worked with a 2.0mm hook haven't don't that in months and guys I wear classes if someone was watching me try to work with the darker shade they'll certainly laugh at how funny my face looked when I was squinting but that only lasted for a few since the next was to be a brighter color.
I had to make the leaf last. I still dunno why but it was so quick but then it came out tiny and cute and I just murmed “I wonder what I was so scared to try this out”
I got into this. I had an idea of how to start since making the crochet socks weeks ago gave me an idea of heat stitch ut was but I wasn't exactly sure of the stitch for the sides so obviously I ran to youtube to come rescue me. I didn't find the exact sunflower design I was making.
Some had different stitch in the beginning or at the end I had to find one that had the stitch I wanted in the end. I started making and and it started coming out just how I wanted it. All I could think of was how surprised she'll be when the rider delivers it to her.
I love this project not because of what it is but it kinda feels like a reward for my victory like a warrior that came back from battle yeah. That sort of thing. I had to wait till it got to her to make this post so I can capture the full essence of my joy. She sent a picture with her keys in it and it was tge moat warm feeling I had today.
Do you love sunflowers too or would you like me to try another flower that you like more ?

Ps: these pictures belong to me and we’re taken with my mobile device.
The keychain design is bright and cheerful. Nice color combo. It really pops. Great work.

Thank youuuu
Such a perfect gift for your sister and it's good that you finally realized how pleasurable it can be to crochet even the tiniest things.
