Renboga || Crochet Multicolored Shirt
#needlework
Most outfits I make for myself are either in a dull color or are plain with just a little bit of detailing. But with this shirt I went as far as I could.
Now to how this whole thing started. As a crocheter I'm bound to be in talk with others and one random day I had someone send a picture of this Stitch asking if I knew how to make the stitch.
That she got an order for it and she's still trying to figure it out.
I was bored out of my mind that day and I needed a good distraction before she came along so obviously I grabbed the offer with both hands and ran towards my hook and some colorful yarn.
I told her to give me a minute while myself and my hands got to work. It took a while but I figured it out and sent her a picture and a help video or text I don't quite remember.
Sadly my fun was going to be short lived and I was like “wait I don't own a crochet shirt and this stitch is quite eye-catching so I gave it a go.
I started out with scrap yarn, I didn't want to risk going outside and losing the vibe to make something.
I did a test with the back panel and when I liked it made the front and pushed the others forward.
40hrs, a 3.5mm hook and loads of yarn later I got this pretty baby. I don't know if it's just me but I have lots of fun when I'm making color changing projects.
It just makes it more engaging and before you realise how long you've been at it you're almost done.
I finally got to wear this to meet with a client, and as I wanted he ordered the exact same color mix just for his daughter, I mean I planned for him to do so I just didnt think itll work.
I can't wait to show it to you all once I finish up.
I made mine thick so it can serve a dual purpose since I'll be pairing it with short sleeves and sleeveless gowns a lot. Better to be safe than sorry.
One thing though, I've been here contemplating. Firstly I named it “Renboga” it means rainbow and secondly I would like to make this shirt in only this color except its custom ordered in a different color, that way it'll only belong to that client.
Yunno is like a 1 of 1 sort of thing but for this design which is the main one I'll only make it in this mix.
What do you think though? I'd like to hear your feedback and maybe better advice if there is one but I'm here to read through it all.
