My First Ruffles Short

#needlework
‘ First things first this is one of the most challenging orders i have gotten in my time as a crocheter, h not the negative challenge the positive one that tests just how far you can think and improvise. A client reached out saying she wanted something to wear to the beach and that she did not want the everyday mesh look and that she would like this[ she had an insp picture] . She asked if I could recreate the design and I was like, sure. We went straight to process her over and I got straight to making this pretty baby.’

Earlier this week I made a pst about getting an order for a three piece beach outfit, that was a bra top and it is safe to say I just got finished with the shorts.

Hello and welcome to another episode of What did Doreen make?
Today's project is a crochet ruffle short and yeah i am going to spill the beans on this project, how i made it, what i used, the challenges i faced and last but nt the least was it worth all the trouble.

First is hw did I make it? Well in the first post i forget to mention that this job is urgent so i had to speed things up i was under a healthy amount of pressure while making this, first thing was the base, had to finish making the plain short and then follow with the ruffles an i had to calculate how long it took me to make each of the ruffles,

i wanted t know the exact time it tok. I was surprised, it tk tk almost two hours to complete each row of ruffles and yeah I made lots of rows.

For most of my projects i use acrylic yarn, it lasts long, it doesn't fade and for beach eras most times its light weight and gets dried easily so it's a good choice for this particular fit, i don't want my client staying wet even after hours of coming out of the water, apart from style comfort is our priority

What challenges did I face? Well the time urgent jobs are fun and positively challenging but if you are like me that has never tried out this pattern it might be tasking especially when it takes hours to make progress.

The challenge i faced was the time issue and getting comfortable with working this pattern

Was it worth the trouble? Yeah obviously. Once I finished the last stitch and covered it up it was like a cold bath on a sunny day. Argh it felt s god and refreshing, my work was starting to come out and i was loving every bit of it

I can't wait to finish this last pic and show you all the finished look. I hope you love it like i do

So much details and I’m in awe that you used acrylic. This is nice.

This is a beautiful work, it has details that give volume to highlight the silhouette.
