Keeping Connected
As a kid we always had this round table where we'd share a metal and well all get to talk about a lot after eating. The school gist, the work talk and yunno hearing tales from the days of our parents. Does this still happen in a lot of homes?
This used to be a nice part of the Day. Hearing what it was like for my parents when they were my age or younger but a lot of time has passed and we all stay in separate apartments now so it's not possible to share dinner every single evening. We don't do dinners anymore but we take out time to get together durring holidays or if everyone is available just to have that family time
Busy schedules crept in. We all grew out of our parents' roof. Honestly I didn't exactly feel the change since we all adapted as the wind took us. Do I miss those times yes but it also allows me to treasure the times we spend together.
Like I said earlier daily dinners can't exactly worry anymore but we all try to stay connected. We check in regularly. Have those big video calls and talk about everything for hours. Reminisce the silly things we used to do as kids. Just laugh and remember yunno. One thing I loved is how we always stay connected no matter how far apart we are
Dinner was bonding for us and we only found new ways to still keep our bond intact. Whether it’s a shared meal or an hour-long call, what really matters is the effort to be present and for me that counts as a lot.
