People tend to think that as a fiber artist, A crocheter, especially one that makes a ton of outfits for different people and always different aesthetics, that I know how to make the tiny and cute simple accessories. Well I am here to tell you it's a huge lie.

I mostly focus on full outfits. I think the first time I made a ruffle hat was a year ago or so. And from there I learnt how to make little pouches, roses, rose petals and other things but there is still a whole lot that I do not know how to make.

It did bother me because I mean, they looked simple and tiny so why didn't I know how to make any of them. This usually ran through my mind most of the time when I saw these designs pop up on Instagram or tiktok, my Pinterest was the worst.

And one day I was like yooo, I saw this cute soc design. The one that had ruffles at the ankle and I was like naaaaaaaaaa I gotta try this out it's too clean. The thing is I didn't immediately rish to make that. I told myself let's make a basic soc first. Then we can progress after that just to be sure I have the pattern straight.

And yes people this is my first time making a sock. I will admit yeah. I though it was going to be way more complex and that I'll cry my eyes out but guys. I came across this tutorial [ shout out to YouTube for always saving my life ,lol]

She was so detailed and trust me I followed step by step I only added one row of increases cause my feet are bigger than her but apart from that the whole process was amazing you should have seen me giggling at the thought of making my very own crochet socks. Boy was I excited.

When I got to the ankle part and started working my excitement grew. There is this joy that comes with learning something new especially if it's a comfy design and you know the girlies are gonna love it.

I finished joining the ankle and got right into making the foldable part of the soc. I honestly don't know what it's called, help me out here. But yeah this was finished in no time and I did my little victory Dance , obviously, then proceeded to send pictures to my friends that I just made this.

I know it sounds funny typed out but learning to make a sock is one thing that has been on my list for a while to achieve it and also fully understanding the patterning is honestly an amazing feeling.
