Color Fusion on My Hook || Crochet Ruffle Hat
Working with different colors of yarns on one project is something I do often but different colors mixed as one strand? Yeah that almost never happens and this is one of the one in a million times it occurs. And I'm here to fill you in on every little detail
A client reached out to me and she was referred by an acquaintance. She sent a picture of how thick she wanted her ruffles to be but hers would have a twist since the image shared was a plain orange ruffle hat.
I said okay she says she wanted a mix of brown and cream so it'll give a different color. Best believe I said yes and we got right into it.
I'm going to be honest in the beginning of this work the color looked very odd probably because I've never done something like this.
And if you are a fiber artist you know trust the process is literally our motto so I just kept going and when I started making the depth of the base it started looking really pretty and I was sold [not literally I just loved what it was becoming]
Crocheting has a way of making the most odd thing turn out to be so pretty and dreamy
This is the biggest ruffle I've ever made on a hat I usually make the ones that are bold and you see the curls clearly not there's ones that curl up at ever turn so it consumed yarn way more than I had expected and it was fun to make since I was pairing this with a crocheters best friend, Netflix, pretty sure I got carried away with watching my series.
I was going for a full look for the ruffles so I made rows and rows and rows and rows till I got the size I wanted and I was stun. It looked so fine on my mannequin head. And the mixed colors made it look so different and pretty.
I sent it out to my client when the order was completed and i was getting the first client jotters. Would she like it? Would she hate it? Would she be pleased? Has she gotten it yet? And all that butttt thank God none of the negatives came through because she loved it as well.
To be honest I was nervous since it was her first time and didn't want to start off on the wrong foot . I'm just happy I did not disappoint her and give her something she didn't like.
Would I make it again? Yes absolutely I'd love to try it out in another color mix and prolly my favourite colors as well. Might also try out a more full look I dunno rn I'll just see where my hands take me 😅😅😅😅
I can't wait to work on another piece.
The supplies that I used in making this
4.0mm hook
Stitch markers
Acrylic yarns
Scissors
Measurement Tape
Ps: these pictures belong to me and we’re taken with my mobile device.
I love the end result. Ruffles are definitely one of the best details in crochet and I love them. I think Netflix and crocheting are the perfect combination to ever exist.
Rightttttt. What's crochet with Netflix
