Bra Top for The Winnie Trouser

#needlework I finally got to finish the bra top, the one I spoke about earlier, and honestly, I’m just relieved and happy that the whole process finally came to an end. This particular client was very specific about what she wanted, especially with the red detailing on the body of her top.

The outfit was for an all-white party, so she didn’t want too much color, but she also didn’t want it to look plain. She wanted something subtle that would still help her stay on theme for the event.

So she came to me and said, “Hey, can you make me this but just add a little red detailing?” And as always, I was more than happy to oblige.

When I started making the top, it was honestly fun. The design was pretty, the stitches were coming out neat, and adding the red detailing made the whole thing even more beautiful. I finished everything, secured the edges, and even made the borders thicker so it would sit nicely when worn. When we sent it to her, we thought everything was fine. But then a small problem came up.

She insisted that it was different from what she wanted. She said the shapes were not the same and that something looked off, even though I literally used the same yarn pack to make both parts of the top.

Same brand, same texture, same dye lot. But the way she was seeing it, it was like I used two completely different yarns. She complained so much that her friend, who was acting as the middle man, was honestly exhausted. She kept going back and forth trying to explain that everything was made exactly the same way, but it wasn’t getting through.

After a while, we finally got everything sorted. We were expecting more complaints when she received it physically because of how the online conversations had gone. But the moment she actually saw it in person, her whole energy changed. Instead of criticizing it again, she was suddenly so excited.

She kept saying, “Oh my God, it’s so pretty, I love it, look at this, look at this!” She even sent a video looking all giddy, dancing around, showing the top from different angles, and smiling. And honestly, we were shocked. That was not the reaction we expected at all, especially after everything earlier.

At the end of the day, I’m just really happy I pushed through and finished the order. It took patience, adjustments, and a lot of reassurance, but seeing her genuinely happy in the end made it worth it. Even though the process was a little draining, the final outcome reminded me why I love doing this in the first place.
My client had fun at her party and I got to relax since she lover her fit so I'd call it a win win if you ask me, pretty for for a pretty client.
