Watercolour: Dream of Whales

I usually try to use the watercolor to simplify my ideas. As more complex colors tend to make dreams easy to forget. So here's one such dream where I dream of whales.

I have done this on normal sketch paper. I should get canvas but rainy season outside I made use of whatever was in front of me. Here's the final result.

It started from the sea wash color and the whale sketch inside. And I tried to keep the colors minimum in this step.

Next step I made sure to check the whales surrounding like water, greenery etc just to get the feel for the dream. I tried to make trippy with minimal colors.

Next added some more colors to the paper. As it is normal drawing sheet it was harder to spread the color across and decided to use the inks from this point onwards. Here the ink is meant to be added to the border of the whale and also it is going to be used for creating the greenery. This would make the whale lot more interesting to draw and put on paper.

Thing with water color is that more complexity the less attractive it can get so I tried to minimize and decided to use the inks in this context. Which works most of the time.

Finally the result is here. I know I should use canvas so the flow of colors and inking is more attractive but give me few more days to go out for supplies and that is definitely happening :)
