In my previous post, I shared my recent trip to Kon Tu Ma village. And I want to dedicate this post to talk about the beauty of the rice houses here.

The rice houses are small houses on stilts nestled between the mountains and forests, creating a fairy-tale beauty. They are often built on flat land at the edge of the forest and near rice fields to facilitate farming. From a distance, these rice houses look like hobbits' houses behind pine trees and old trees. Structurally, all these rice houses are built of wood and are about a meter above the ground. The poles of these rice houses are covered with plain corrugated iron or have a round log placed on top of the poles to prevent rats from accessing the barn.

These rice houses are not only beautiful in terms of structure but also bring the cultural beauty of the Xo Dang people. These rice houses show the sincerity and high sense of community of the Xo Dang ethnic minority. Although the rice houses are located far from the village in a separate area, they are never stolen. Villagers not only have no intention of taking each other's things, but also have a sense of protecting each other's things. These rice houses also show the villagers' respect and gratitude to the gods for giving them food and health. So they built a separate area to cherish these gifts from the gods.

Thank you very much for taking time to read my post. Wish you a great week ahead.

I love the way that the rice houses are built on stilts, which allows them to blend in with the surrounding environment. They also look like they would be very comfortable to live in, with plenty of space for storage and for people to gather.

I am also impressed by the cultural significance of the rice houses. They show the Xo Dang people's respect for the gods and their gratitude for the gifts of food and health. I think it is wonderful that the villagers have built a separate area to cherish these gifts.
