The beauty of Kon Tu Rang terraced rice field in "field soaking season"
Hi dear Hivers in Photography Lovers community, this is the "field soaking season" in my place. First, let me tell something about this. After harvesting the rice, the farmers will plow and soak their fields before planting the new rice. Soaking fields is let the water come into the fields and dig a small channel for water to flow out of the fields. The water maybe from the forests, mountains and rivers nearby. The purpose of soaking fields is taking advantage of the water flow to accumulate alluvium for rice fields. The farmers often soak their fields for one month before the new crop.
Kon Tu Rang terraced rice fields are the rice fields of Kon Tu Rang village. It's the most beautiful rice fields in my region. It's also a famous tourist destination in ripe rice season. During this time, not many people come here because there is no rice and the weather is cold. But for me, in each different season, it has its own beauty. In soaking field season, the farmers build new banks for the fields. From afar, Kon Tu Rang rice fields look like a painting with clear drawings. The sky is reflected in the water on the fields.
Even though it's quite cold during this time in my place, the farmers in Kon Tu Rang still wake up and work very early on the rice fields. Each family has a rice field here, and each member in their family has a duty. They work hard from early morning because the longer they soak their fields, the more fertile their fields are for the new crop.
The women in the village often carry their baby with them when work on the fields. That's kind of their habbit and custom. They use a thick cloth to cover and tight the baby on their back, then their hands are free to work. The baby never cries, sometimes they sleep, sometimes they awake and look around. I think they feel very safe on their mother's back.
These are the rice houses. The rice houses are usually built near the rice fields and separated from the village. The villagers build the rice houses to store the rice after harvesting. You may have the question that why they don't store the rice in their houses. The answer is because their houses are made mainly from wood and there is a fireplace in the middle of the houses, so they worry that the rice maybe burned and they will have enough food until the new crop. Each year they do one rice crop. That's why they keep the rice separately in rice houses far from the village. And you won't worry about rats or the rice maybe stolen. They put flat circle woods on the columns of the rice houses to prevent the rats climbing up the house. And the sense of community of the villagers is really high, and they never steal something from other people in the village.

Yeah they work very hard but low income. The crop is just enough for their family. Anyway, they lead a happy life.

The the kids in the village go to school at all? I feel that kind of child should be in the reception class or something
There is a class in the village, but the children don't go to school until 6 years old. Beore that, they stay all the time with their parents.

Preparation of fields before sowing again is interesting, also makes for great photography during change of seasons.
Our African Bantu also carry their children strapped to the back while working, whether collecting water, planting gardens or collecting wood it is normal in rural villages where they appear mostly.
