Celebrate Christmas with villagers

Hi dear Hivers in Abundance Tribe community, I just spent Christmas with villagers of Vi Ro Ngheo, a village in a remote area and surrounded by mountains and forests. There are so many interesting things I would like to share with you guys today.

Most of the villagers of Vi Ro Ngheo village are Protestants, and for them, Christmas is a very important day. Living in a remote area, their sense of community is very high. Together they prepared for Christmas from early morning. Some of them made fired, some of them prepared for the meal, while the other cleaned and prepared the dining area.

Then together they had lunch. I'm also invited to have meal with them. And they treated me very well with local delicious dishes. After the meal, they played gongs at the communal house before decorating the church and preparing things for the most important event in the evening.

And at around 6pm, the leader of the village hit the drum to let everyone in the village know that event was about to take place. Then the villagers rushed to come to the church. Because that's an important event, then everyone dressed very beautifully.

During the event, they told story about Christmas and lessons about living happily and treating people well. After that is musical performances by villagers. It seems to be that they often give performances because they performed very professionally. And finally, they enjoyed cakes, candy, snacks and beverages. One special thing about he villagers of Vi Ro Ngheo is that they don't drink wine, and they really like sweet things.

This is the first time I spent Christmas with the village following the invitation of the village's leader. Even though they live in a remote area and lacking many things, they have a simple and happy life. And I'm so happy to have a warm Christmas with them. They even took me to the nearby hill to watch the beautiful nature over there. And as the way to return their favor, I took some photos of them in their traditional costumes.
