Fall of a nation - Modern Warfare® 2

Hi guys if you ever played COD MW2 I think you know that there are missions that marked you in some way either for its epic development or for emotional moments that gave you nostalgia over the years, for me this is a title that represents the golden age of this saga and there is precisely one of those missions that I have to comment and highlight today, since it seems to me that knows how to represent very well the fall of a nation that seems to be untouchable in this world.

“Whiskey Hotel” is the name of this mission that seems to represent very well the terror that plagues the very thought of what would happen if a direct enemy attack, the United States and its white house, a place that seems to be untouchable, were to be recreated. The developers of Infinity Ward did manage to touch on this theme, as they very much in the chaotic style of cod re-situated this scenario in video game; however, this mission because it does not focus so much on frenetic combat but rather gives you moments of tension where everything is calm and so you can appreciate the destruction of what was once a world power that is now losing the battle. ![]() I liked the fact that all the hopes of the soldiers on the front seemed lost, since the Russians outnumbered them and armoured weapons, and in the midst of the struggle for survival after a collision with the helicopter we have a transportation to space where we see in the distance a big explosion caused by missiles launched just to the White House, this is a scene that I loved, because they made everything very epic to see and enjoy at all times giving me that feeling of vulnerability in space. ![]() For a moment I had not understood about the missiles, thinking that they were enemy attacks, however, we discovered that it was Captain Price who activated them to deactivate all enemy and allied armaments with an electromagnetic pulse in space. This was a very bold move on the part of Captain Price, since the missiles and other Russian armaments would not work because of the decomposed satellites. ![]() Now all the allied termite sights do not work, however, weapons with iron sights are effective in these circumstances, so from now on the strategy to save ammunition is very important. ![]() As I progressed, I felt more and more that feeling of desolation that I rarely felt in a shooter of this style. Many soldiers were devastated to the point of exhaustion, and others I implemented gave their last fights to resist the attack. ![]() The room is a very interesting point that I must highlight, because thanks to that atmosphere of rain and full moon, it recreates more that terrifying style that I like to highlight so much of this mission. ![]() ![]() Something incessant is that in some occasions of this mission was the option to evade the troops without making noise or also kill them, thus leaving the decision to be driven by anger and revenge or simply not to cause more damage than there was. In order to go around the city and reach the White House, we used the passages of the presidential bunker. ![]() While on the surface we planned a strategy to retake the white house, however, everything fell apart when we were discovered. ![]() this sequence of taking step by step the territory that once belonged to the americans was terrifying because literally the russian soldiers were inside the white house. ![]() ![]() As we could, we made our way through with a few soldiers and this was the part where I felt the most tension, because in every door or corner of this place an enemy could be waiting, so I felt a more strategic Swat style to clear the rooms. ![]() In the middle of the slaughter we are warned by the White House station that everything will be bombed to finish with the enemies, however, if there were allies that somehow made some signal with flares. ![]() So we made a good run for our lives, Sergeant Foley with flares in hand tried to give the signals with his last breaths. He managed to save the few allies and civilians. This was a moment of great satisfaction for me since we see how even after being almost lost, the hope and strength of the Marines is more unbreakable. ![]() Requirements to play: OS: Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Vista. ![]() |
