The Truth Behind Reincarnation from a Muslim Perspective

Introduction
Every other day, we hear stories of reincarnation. Perhaps media attention on such topics is high, or humans are so attached to this world that even after death, we wish to stay in a similar realm. We often hear two main ideas:
Matter cannot be created or destroyed; it only changes form.
People claim to have lived before, describing past lives in astonishing detailand some of their details later prove true, even when the person they describe died centuries ago.
As Muslims, we know reincarnation is not part of Islamic belief. So how can these people accurately recount events from a life long past? In this post, I offer a logical Islamic explanation.
Media, Science, and Reincarnation Claims
Stories like those of James Leininger (USA, 1998) and the Twin Past Life Recall cases (India, 1957) circulate online. They claim past life memories with convincing details, leading many to wonder if reincarnation is real.
Islamic Perspective on Life After Death
Islam teaches that each person dies once and then enters a barrier (barzakh) until the Day of Resurrection. The Qur’an explains:
Surah Al Mu’minūn 23:99–100
“Until, when death comes to one of them, he says, ‘My Lord, let me return [to life], that I might do righteousness in that which I left behind.’ No! It is but a word he is saying; and behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected.”
And:
Surah Al Baqarah 2:28
“How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were dead and He gave you life? Then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned.”
These verses make it clear: in Islam, we live once, enter a state of waiting (barzakh), and then are resurrected.
The Role of the Qarin, the Jinn Companion
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that every person has a qarin, a jinn companion, present from birth.
Sahih Muslim 2814a
“Each of you is assigned a qarin (jinn companion). They asked, ‘Even you, O Messenger of Allah?’ He replied, ‘Even me, except that Allah aided me against him and he became a Muslim, so he only commands me to do good.’”
The concept of jinn and devils (Shayateen) is clearly established through the Qur'an and Hadith. These beings, especially the evil ones, mislead people and plant deceptive thoughts in their hearts. Often, people claim to remember details from a so-called past life, and those memories may even seem surprisingly accurate. However, in reality, such experiences are often caused by Shayateen or evil jinn misleading the person. They insert information from someone else's life into the individual's mind, making them believe it happened to them. As a result, people start viewing these stories as evidence of reincarnation, and this mistaken belief can mislead entire generations.
Fraudulent Spiritualists
Some so-called "spiritual" practitioners, or fortune tellers, charge high fees to reveal your past deeds. If you wonder how they know details of your life, it may be that they have communicated with your qarin. Islam forbids such contact with jinn. It is wiser to avoid these practitioners than to seek future guidance or allow them to perform dun (exorcism) rituals on you.
Closing Thoughts
I wrote this post so that fellow Muslims who had doubts about reincarnation can see an Islamic explanation. Non-Muslims curious about the Islamic view may also find something new here.
Is reincarnation possible in your opinion? Have you ever met someone who claimed to be reincarnated? Share your thoughts below.
In the final we return to Earth, we join it, so we reincarnate in plants, on the earth itself or whatever. Each religion/belief presents a different aspect of this topic. This is an issue that is my complete domain and in which I am specialized more than 50 years ago.
From the age of 7 (probably before, but my most recent memory of the experience is of that age) I have had those gifts of seeing other lives/things/experiences. I can tell you that if there is anything else, that if there is life after death and that there is reincarnation. There are no scientific arguments for this, simply as in any religion, it is believed or not.
In my case, my own mother was presented from the fastest to confirm it, we had made a pact in life that I would tell me after her departure, and fulfilled it. This was only one of the many experiences of this type that I have had. I currently resume these practices, which for about 20 years did not want reactive and for personal reasons that I do not plan to explain here in Hive. The point is that if it exists, and that if there is anything else, because many beliefs mention it.
Who we are and where we are going, it is difficult to know, it leads a lifetime to do so and a death unveils the mystery, because only when we die we will be able to know what follows or what is later, before not.
The more we interact, the more I learn about you. I still remember when you shared your traumas, it felt like you stepped out of the screen just to share them with me.
I can see in dreams when my loved ones will pass away. I've seen dreams about my grandfather, grandmother (my father's sister, who raised him), another grandfather's sister, and some uncles and aunts from my family. These types of dreams are supported by Islamic belief as part of faith. However, since I’m not praying as regularly as I used to, I no longer experience such dreams. Prayers require extreme discipline in life, and even my sleep cycle isn’t stable these days.
This was (and is still) a trusted test, because I do not like to share personal issues above all with people of Hive. So you can undoubtedly enjoy that honor, that very few people have it.
As in many traditions/religions that I have followed, if you do not practice the technique, you will not be able to develop the ability.
Here in Hive I have trained and helped to develop their skills to a person, who is my student of these things, I cannot reveal who it is because it is part of the agreement, but I can tell you that from my guide follow, their skills have developed in 300%.

Well undoubtedly our religion nullifies the concept of reincarnation and belief on dearg and afterlife is one of the core beliefs. It is quite elusive to understand how can one reincarnate into others and why will this happen?
If that is true, then I wonder who the real offspring of Adam and Eve are. Shouldn't there be fewer humans being reincarnated again and again? Where are the rest of the souls coming from? I wonder...
I had left an Easter egg along with some Qur'anic ayahs to see if any Muslim would recognize Surah Al-Baqarah. You did not catch the Easter egg and instead corrected the ayah. My intention was to test how easily incorrect versions of the Qur'an spread online, since I am working on a Qur'anic project where the data is stored on the Hive blockchain. It is still in the proof-of-concept stage.
This can be answered by them, like humans can be reincarnated into other animals or living organisms, even bacteria and viruses. Which means even those beings have souls (according to them). It could be possible, who knows? I would not outright reject any claims nor accept them without proof.
You know that here in Canada, there are people who say that they are animal reincarnation. So they self-identify as a cat or a deer ? lol
We are atom based so it makes sense. You DLM is built by carbon atoms that once were part of a Star. That carbon was part of our planet. Your mom ate this carbon in her vegetables and meat intake and that built DLM embryo. After you were born you started to feed yourself and get more carbon, you grew. One day you will die, your body will be decomposed by bacteria and fungi in the ground that will bring back these atoms to the ground where Plants will absorb. Maybe one day your grand grand grandchild will eat a broccoli that will have one of the atoms that were once in your body! Have you thought about that? lol
Bring back bullying lol. My mom would have beaten the cat out of me in a minute. 🤣
hahahahaha yes that is the big comment that people bring that when they hear these type of things hehe
lol
😂😂
Scientific perspective .. 😂
Am I a reincarnation of an owl? Lol, I bet not.
I don't have any doubt about it. Recrimination is possible only in movies and dramas. I haven't met anyone who came back to life after recrimination.

I can joke about your comment but we r on the same page lol
Have you met someone who came back to life and told you that heaven and hell are there? Yet you might believe it...right?
Hehe. It's always controversial and there is no proof of anything because it depends on belief of people. But I would love to know your thoughts about it. I might comfort you with a healthy debate if I was not facing my exams.
I always love the conversation of death and rebirth even as an atheist due to the main reason of matter
Matter cannot be created or destroyed; it only changes form
And so what happens to the electrical energy that is in our brains that effectively make us, who we are
it has to transfer into a form of matter somewhere,
You should read what @gwajnberg wrote xD
So many conversations, so many perspectives. There are those who will swear that they've experienced it, when it might only be a major case of déjà vu. And then, there are those who will genuinely believe that they or their loved one are reincarnated. In truth, there's no way to tell, because it's basically our word against theirs. They don't have to prove they're reincarnated, YOU have to prove they're not.
So, it being real or not, I guess the answer is subjective.🤗
The one I shared is also new to many Muslims. We often hear stories of reincarnation on the internet, but only a few Muslims know the Islamic perspective behind them.
I hoped he didn't read my thoughts, or he is not going to make it 😂
I don't practise religion nor believe in any one true religion. So, it gets harder to believe in reincarnation. Since we have no proof of it being true or false, I cannot say anything about it. But the culture I come from, reincarnation is a very prevalent idea.
I might prefer it over the one temporary life on Earth and permanent residence in Heaven/Hell theory, just because the former forces us to behave a little better. If something is temporary, why would you spend your energy on making it better? One of the reasons many people don't care about this life or Earth and think there is a better world somewhere. If they know there is one, why won't they go right now? lol
Interesting post!
All I want to say is thank you for not giving me a tough time. Hehe.
Also, sorry for the late reply. Since the phone incident, I still haven't added the keys to my mobile, and I only open my laptop once a day or sometimes even less than that.
What they do in this world matters because their better world depends on the actions they take in this one.
And some of those 'actions' are very questionable. Don't drink this thing here, but you can have it as much as you want up there. lol
Brother, you've done a great job in describing the reincarnation thing. According to our religion. It is very important for us to understand. Saad even though questions might arise at different points in life, we should not forget what our God has taught us and what is actually true. With that said, actually studying the holy texts and and trying to understand from them can make a lot of things clear to a lot of people.
Between the ages of 12 to 17, I was deeply focused on researching religious content. Everything I know today is built on those earlier learnings. These days, I explore scientific explanations and approaches, and I compare them to religious teachings. For example, in our religion, the concept of nazar (evil eye) exists, and it's explained in various ways elsewhere, like through the law of attraction and similar ideas. In short, my current focus is to trace these concepts through other perspectives and find the paths that lead me back to our original teachings.
Yes that is a very novel idea. I myself am quite into this. Finding the relation between science is islam feels like a treasure found. ever solidifying my belief. I try to allocate more time to this, although my undergrad isn't letting me.
Subhanallah I really like reading your posts, and every Muslim must believe that, the jinn qarin knows all our actions and can imitate them even after we die
Hey, I edited most of it. You might want to reread this part, as the main reason for my view is that I don't find this part authentic. The only difference lies between qarin, jinn, or the devil; the rest of the concept remains the same.
I understand your explanations as described by the Holy book (Al-quran) in different Surah. No doubt that their's just one life. Let me not lie, I believe in reincarnation, but I reason with you with this explanation below
Nice points here.
Glad to know we r on the same page.
