1k HP Delegated to Pakistani Hivers with Plans to Delegate more!

Disclaimer: I am lost and don't know what I am doing or plans to achieve in long term. All I know is, I wanna encourage Pakistanis on hive to keep their KE ratio below 3.

I cut alot of my thoughts after thinking more about this campaign as I don't want it to be limited to Pakistanis only in future.

I initially decided to delegate 3500 HP with plans to delegate even more to active Pakistani Hivers with known identities. This is my small effort to reduce alt accounts and suspicious activities.

Thinking about it for 15 more days, in future I will distribute half to Pakistanis and half to non Pakistanis through Participation with some basic rules (not sure about the half division yet).

So why did I stop at 1000 HP? I announced that I would delegate my HP to legitimate Pakistani users but when I checked posts by Pakistanis going back seven days I couldn’t find many Hivers I could truly trust. In this post I’ll break down each Pakistani Hiver I delegated to providing a kind of monthly audit. I’ll also discuss the referral program (after thinking about it for 15+ days, I am keeping this part to encourage onboarding and I started maintaining onboarding data more carefully as it not only helps us reward onboarders but also reduce abuse in the region).

Let’s talk about how it works!

Every 30 days I’ll revisit #hivepakistan to shuffle my delegations. If I find active Pakistani Hivers who give me minimal suspicious vibes I’ll delegate to them. This is a high-abuse region and it’s tough to manage.

I won’t just delegate 100 HP to each user; I’ll also consider their KE ratio to promote good habits or at least try to. An ideal KE ratio should be below 2 but I’ll allow up to 3 as many Hivers delegate their HP or withdraw liquid rewards. I had to make several exceptions this time so the list isn’t perfect.

Beyond the KE ratio users must be HL-verified to claim these free delegations. I’ll check for HL-verified badges so if any Pakistani Hivers are verified but haven’t claimed their badge now’s your chance.

This remains a part of long term plan as I want to encourage onboarding.

Additionally if a user invited someone to Hive and I select their invitee for delegation both the inviter and invitee will receive a 100 HP boost provided they are HL-verified have a KE ratio below 3 and I randomly select them from the #hivepakistan feed a Pakistani-exclusive tag. For example if a Pakistani user invited 10 Hivers I picked for delegation each of those 10 will receive 200 HP if the connection is clear and not suspicious and the inviter will get 100 HP plus 100 HP for each valid invitee who meets the criteria HL-verified KE ratio below 3 badge displayed and no suspicious vibes. Since I’m randomly selecting from the feed I won’t overthink my choices; if I have to deliberate too long you might not be worth considering.

This way a single Hiver could receive up to 1100 HP in delegation from me (i will change the reward structure after thinking about it more). Don’t worry if I run out of HP; I can power up more in the future so just focus on inviting quality users. However I’ll track the percentage of invitees per person who go inactive, get flagged by Spamminator or end up on TMM. Since selections are random users won’t know why they were skipped or chosen.

Nothing here is set in stone. As we experiment we may change how this campaign works. If users try to exploit my goodwill I might stop altogether.

Now let’s discuss the users I picked this time. Honestly finding even 10 users was challenging but here we are:

@abrarhussain

This Pakistani user had issues with HW in the past but completed the appeal period. He has a consistent known identity across all Hive posts and interactions. I gave him a pass on the KE ratio above 3 and HL-verified rules assuming he’ll improve his ratio rather than worsen it. In my opinion he’s worth experimenting with even though his posts are sometimes just 50-word challenges. At least he isn’t cheating the system. He seems to have learned his lesson and I’m willing to bet on him even if it might be a mistake in the future. We may find better Pakistani Hivers but his long-term presence and improved character make him a good candidate for now.

@tahastories1

Active in our Discord helping other communities and serving as a #hivepakistan staff member Taha has invited many Pakistani Hivers to try Hive. His story holds many secrets: he lost the keys to his previous account and was falsely accused of being a user who posts daily rants about me. Taha cleared his name with flying colors. He once angered a “Big Bad Wolf” actually a sweet guy despite appearances with a comment leading to a downvote spree. With his positive attitude a sprinkle of pixie dust and some fairy magic Taha resolved the conflict. He was a blogger before joining Hive and I hope to see more of his travel journeys. Beyond Hive I know Taha’s personal life mirrors mine in some ways; his father like mine is ill and I wish him well. Did I mention the delegation rules? He aced them all before I even started writing about him.

@amjadsharif

A recent addition to the Hive world Amjad is an ex-Steemian who migrated to Hive. I love that he left the sinking ship of Steemit for good. He’s HL-verified with an impressive KE ratio of 0.3 achieved by powering down Steem and powering up Hive a bold move! He encourages other Steemians to join Hive but insists they fully commit by leaving Steemit behind. He’s new and I don’t know much about him but I see potential. He prefers Hive over Steemit and shares comparisons with his Steemit friends. Perhaps I’ll interview him someday to document his insights.

@rosecane

Meet @rosecane brother of @shahzad-ansari (shahzad is one of my favorite Hive bloggers who posts less often but always delivers quality) and @shrazi whose KE ratio is too high. Fawad’s (rosecane’s) KE ratio is just above 3 but he isn’t powering down. His entire family is trustworthy with over 10 accounts among them yet I’ve never felt suspicious about them. They seem to be a well-raised family which is rare in Pakistan.

@amberkashif

Meet Amber aka API not the computer term but a nickname meaning “Big Sister” in the #hivepakistan Discord. She’s not my blood relative but I call her my big sister. An OG blogger who was active before I entered the scene she handles conflicts impartially and mentors me when needed. Some may call her selfish but I see her as practical.

Among Pakistani women Amber has done significant work for the community second only to @ayesha-malik a #hivepakistan governor who can override my decisions with a 2/3 majority and remains active behind the scenes. Amber isn’t a governor but holds special influence; her vote carries half the weight of a governor’s a unique role in our community.

@javedkhan1989

Javed isn’t HL-verified but his known identity is sufficient for now. He was invited to Hive by Yousuf a controversial figure tied to club100 which I dislike for forcing users to allocate 25% beneficiary rewards to steemitpakistan and 25% to null. Despite Yousuf’s anti-abuse efforts on Hive his reputation is mixed. Javed migrated from Steemit and has stuck around. I don’t love all his posts but he occasionally produces excellent content and brings cultural vibes. He once won a Vibes contest earning a 100 HBD prize. If he’s making Pakistanis proud despite some ups and downs he’s worth delegating to. Is he active on steemit? I’m unsure. Does he have alts? Time will tell.

@minahil.saleem

Minahil is the cousin of @moaz-sabir whom I trust based on current interactions despite his high KE ratio. She isn’t HL-verified or lacks the badge but her KE ratio is solid. Her camera lens is foggy but her behavior on Hive suggests she’s a real person. I know her only through Moaz’s reference with no personal interactions. When I tag her in pak-help she improves which is enough for now. If Moaz’s KE ratio improves I might delegate 100 HP to him for inviting her.

@arshadkhan4421

Arshad lacks an HL-verified badge but since I struggled to find deserving Hivers in the feed I included him. I believe he’d get verified quickly if he applied. I don’t know much about him except that he was invited by @javedkhan1989 and knows Yousuf making him another Steemit migrant. Whether they’re double-dipping or truly understand why we avoid Steemit remains unclear. Time will tell.

@waseemniazi

Waseem’s story mirrors Arshad’s; they know each other and often post in Vibes possibly inspired by Javed’s 100 HBD win. Are they genuine singers? Time will tell. They’re not active in Discord and #hivepakistan is a Discord-based project not just a tag.

@suratkhan786

I quickly ran out of users to delegate to so here you go Surat. His story is similar to Arshad’s and Waseem’s. I hope these tags encourage them to stop commenting only on each other’s posts and explore the wider Hive world. This delegation is a small boost to motivate improvement.

A little message to Yousuf and Javed, I noticed alot of people u invited on hive comment only on each others posts creating a kind of circle jerk. I am being very clear and open about it. Also, I noticed not only comments but autovotes to each other using hive.vote by joining fanbase. I don't care much about what u do with your stake, but I also don't upvote TOO MUCH, if I noticed such practices.

Good luck to everyone I delegated to! I’ll see you next time with more delegations and referral rewards. For now I need to organize information about who invited whom to Hive. If you’re a Pakistani Hiver who thinks you deserve a delegation or can share referral info please help me organize this data to reduce my workload.

Why did I write this post? I have many reasons! See you next time with better rewards. Until then keep Hiving! Blessings to everyone. I hope, I will come up with solid rules for delegations next time.

Yes, maybe your idea works and there's less abuse rate on hive but I agree with you here too that you should delegate HP to non Pakistani users, you can consider some other countries through hive learner community, through HL verified badge to give your delegations

It's not weird at all. She was recently removed from the staff too.

But, she is not a bad user. Just some users teached her wrong things and she didn't used her common sense. Interestingly, she didn't used exact methods so still a bit better than them atleast although not ideal.

I think enough retribution is already given to her and she is on the right path once again. Time will tell, personally I believe in her and she will complete her journey of being trustworthy once again.

We are still curating and supporting her too and she deserves it, I think.

These efforts may become a source of motivation for people to keep their behaviour upright on the platform. Kudos!

Traveling back home with a lot of memories of past four years. Degree ended. My homies are excited to welcome me. Tears are filled in my eyes. I didn't want these things to happen so soon but it happened. Meanwhile, I opened hive and saw your post and my name with so many positive words about me. I am utterly thankful and grateful to you for each and every thing. You are always there to support every genuine person on hive. I don't know where hive would take me or may be my professional life will take the dominance. Right after degree, you know we have to face so many unwelcoming things.
My thoughts, ideas and emotions are mixed 😕.

You can try improving your KE ratio too!

We now vote
40% default
35% if KE is above 3
30% if KE is above 5
0% if KE is above 10

(100% for exceptionally well written posts irrespective of KE ratio)

We r not downvoting but we r encouraging better KE ratio to hivers.

nice initiative to encourage us with delegations

I am planning to power up more HP
If I reach 25k spare HP somehow (already made a roadmap), it will help me revive @hivemediumhub as well.

I haven't forgotten about it. Need massive HP delegation to encourage Participation. I think 5 pakx reward wasn't attractive enough.

Dear @dlmmqb Qasim bro first of all thank you so much for supporting us..
You people are source of motivation for us...
Actually I am doing a job that's why I am bit irregular in writing my blogs..
I had applied for HL but I don't know why I am still not verified? I had cleared the verification process....
Respected Sir yousaf haroon khan was our school teacher and I respect him by heart. Singing and reciting naat Sharifs is my passion and I am doing it with zest and zeal..It is an honor for me that you mentioned me in your blog.
Thanks again..
Stay blessed.
