How Traditional and Modern Music Blend in Perfect Melody

Music has always been a very important part of human culture, it has been used to tell stories of the past, the present, and the future. For someone like me music acts as a therapy for me, it gives me comfort and makes my soul feel good. From the rhythmic beats of traditional drums to the electronic synths of modern production, music has changed over time, but it's true essence remains unchanged. But the question is if traditional and modern music have anything in common in terms of blending together in perfect harmony, or if it is influencing each other in unexpected ways.

Traditional music is the backbone of our cultural heritage, passed down through generations by word of mouth, instrument, and song. Here in Nigeria traditional music is very important and holds a special place in our heart. If you listen very carefully to the lyrics of any traditional music It tells stories of our ancestors' struggles, the victory they got and their daily life, struggles and how come about our identity and cultural identity. On the other hand modern music shows how powerful and intense contemporary music is like hip-hop beats and the rest.
Traditional music has been what has inspired modern genres for example like blues, jazz, and rock, while modern music came in with new vibes which produces very unique techniques that have revitalized traditional music, making it more accessible to new audiences. In Nigeria we have some artists who make these two music a blend, they have successfully sang traditional songs but using modern instrumentation which gives it a perfect blend to the hearing of its audience. One of the female artists I admire so much is SIMI. I love the way she does her own music. Some of her songs are traditional music and she can even use the traditional customs but the instrumentals and production are modern which make it a perfect blend.

Just as the world is evolving, virtually everything will change but music is a long standing thing that keeps playing a very important role in shaping our cultural identity. Traditional and modern music will blend together in unexpected ways, already we are having it happen and we expect more of it in the future, creating new genres, new sounds, and new stories are possibilities we will see in the future. The future of music is exciting, and it's up to us to embrace this harmony of heritage, celebrating our cultural diversity and creativity.
