A Typical Day Of An Online Writer/Editor/Virtual Shopper's Life: Balancing Creativity and the Business World | ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #155
Hello, #HiveWorld and #aseanhive community! I am wishing a wonderful day wherever you are right now and in a pink of health.🌷💖

My day begins as early as six in the morning while the food for lunch is being prepared; I sit in front of my laptop, fingers poised over the keyboard, and I lead a double life. I'm an online writer and editor, crafting engaging content for the magazine, a family-owned international publishing company based in Europe. At any time of the week, I'm a virtual shopper, delving into the internet for my Male Chief Operating Officer (COO), who has a penchant for shopping for personal items online.

Nevertheless, as an online writer/editor, my typical day begins with a cup of coffee or a warm chocolate drink (tsokolate) and flips through my tasks. I'm responsible for creating compelling articles, blog posts, and website content for my Lady Chief Executive Officer (CEO). My creative juices continue to flow as I research, write, and edit, striving to meet deadlines and exceed expectations. I enjoy this kind of job, however, any job isn't without its challenges. Boredom can creep in when working on repetitive projects, and tension builds when facing tight deadlines or a mischievous COO. ☺️

Be that as it may, what makes my job more interesting (or frustrating, depending on the time and day) is my role as a virtual shopper. Any time of the day, week, during breaks, or after office hours, I dig through online marketplaces for products my COO would direct me where to shop. He's already compiled a list of items he wants me to purchase for him. He would tell me the brand and color of the suits he needed for such occasions, the brand of his shoes, socks and the size, the style of the shirt, and the like. Usually, he lets me choose the colors (His favorite color is blue, but I suggested experimenting with other shades like cream, camel, pink, etc) and the style because he said I already know his taste in fashion. My dual roles may seem worlds apart, but I love discovering hidden gems, reading reviews, and sharing my finds with my Bosses. My passion for fashion in this side hustle not only supplements my income but also fuels my creativity. They've become an integral part of my daily routine.

The devil-may-care behavior of my male Boss, the COO (Chief Operating Officer), is the real challenge; that's where lies in navigating office dynamics. He seems to think that I'm a wonder woman, a one-person task force. Oftentimes, he delegates his responsibilities to me, leaving me juggling multiple projects and deadlines. By managing my workload, I've learned to prioritize whatever task is assigned to me, but it's frustrating when my assigned day jobs are pushed aside. Despite this, I have a great working relationship with our Lady CEO, who values my contributions and supports my growth. She knows the behaviour of the COO who is her nephew. She told me not to tolerate him and to report to her whenever the COO delegates his assigned job to me. I am not the kinda leech and she knows what her nephew is doing. By the way, Madame, the CEO, is my son's prime sponsor on his medical needs and whatever medical tests that my son's doctor required of him when he was still alive.

On the other hand, the COO is the youngest brother of my classmate in my baccalaureate degree. They are a family of commercial models and actors - the COO is a former actor. Sometimes, her sister would ask me how his brother was doing. I told her, I have no problem with him about personal behavior towards me. My only problem is his work attitude and I told her everything. I told her that even though the COO is mischievous and somewhat stubborn, my biggest compensation is that he is still generous and caring. Whenever I finish any work that is assigned to him and he delegated to me, he increases my salary and orders the driver to bring me food and whatever I need. 🤩 His sister and I would burst into laughter at his little antics, and she always reminded me to be patient with her brother. Teasingly, I’d reply, “Oh, it’s no big deal!” With my eyebrows arched, I shot him a knowing look that said it all. He could tell when I was about to lose my cool because he would playfully hold my reins.

At any rate, my dual roles as writer/editor and virtual shopper keep my days exciting and unpredictable. When boredom and tension are inevitable, I scribble poetry or sketch my heart away, visit our garden, and pick up flowers for my fresh blossom art, design jewelry, textile painting, make a pattern for crochet, or do some embroidery on my tops and pants. The creative fulfillment and financial rewards make it worthwhile. I'm learning to navigate the challenges and opportunities that come with wearing multiple hats, and I'm grateful for the experience.

Such a fascinating blend of creativity, responsibility, and adaptability! You’ve mastered the art of balancing the imaginative flow needed for content creation with the precision and attention to detail required in the business side of things.😀 Regards to your COO 🤩🤔😅
Haha, you caught on to my COO right away, huh? He's an apple of the eye in every lady friend. It's just like what @antonette said about her boyfriend being my boss, even though my male boss is clueless!🤣🤣🤣 I warned her that she was asking for trouble with a guy like my Boss. Honestly, he's not just handsome, he's an every woman's man! 😂😂 But hey, he’s a genuinely nice guy — just has a bit of a commitment phobia! 🤫
Haha, you had me laughing with that one! Your boss is the perfect mix of heartthrob and headache! At least he’s a nice guy. I bet working with him keeps things interesting every single day.🤗😀
I’ve grown accustomed to his playful antics—he can be so "MAKULIT"! It reminds me of my youngest brother. The two has similarities when it comes to women. These two guys always being chased by girls, although my brother is quite different from my COO. While my brother avoids girls, especially those who get friendly with me just to get close to him, my COO embraces the attention! 😂
My brother prefers to be the one doing the flirting and the wooing. He has this reserved, conservative vibe and definitely doesn’t fancy the loud, attention-seeking types who comes to our house in disguise of inviting me out for snack or shopping. On the other hand, my COO is your typical chick magnet, who loves flirting. 🤣🤣🤣 But in totality they're both genuinely kind-hearted. What a duo! 🤣🌷
Your brother and your COO were total opposites when it comes to handling attention, but both seem like genuinely good guys. 😍
Yes, they are opposite when it comes to women but they are both kind-hearted persons and may kakulitan.☺️☺️☺️
I like that. Kind-hearted with a dash of naughtiness is honestly the perfect combo!😀 People like that bring so much color and joy into everyday life. ❤️
🤣🤣🤣You are right but I can't stand the naughtiness! It gives me so much headache!🤫
Hello madam, diosarich! you are the modern wonder woman of today's world. Just always be safe, eat your meal own time and no matter how busy you may be. PRIORITIZE your health and your God bless the works of your industrious hand. Have a nice day ahead.
Hello there, @ronimarie82. Thank you for the heartwarming compliment and for your concern for my health. Don't worry I eat on time. I don't neglect my health and this is my investment so that I can fulfill my duties and goals in life. Take good care of yourself, too. God bless.💖🕊️
Wow! A busy madame with a higher madame 😄. But your madame is so kind to sponsor your son's medicines when he was here. 🙏She is thoughtful. You are a great asset to the company, being the best writer/editor and a diligent shopper for the male COO, although sometimes he delegates his duties to you. Well, I don't mind if it's not that much and compensates you with $🤑 haha.
It's really nice that you still have time to be creative and continue to do what you love, ate. 😊
Since my son's passing, I have had to keep myself busy with my job. I have to move forward and go on with my life. I know my son wants me to do this too. He does not want me to prolong the grief that I am brazen out of myself.
Yes, Madame is a kind-hearted woman who always extends her hand to someone who needs it. She's a friend of one of my closest friends who tells the tale of my son's predicament and she volunteered to provide financial assistance for my son's medical tests and medicines that are required of him and invited me to work with her in their publishing company. Regarding my impish COO, at least he also lent an ear whenever I had suggestions. "Mas matanda kaya ako sa kanya!"🤣🤣🤣
Art is my way of life to ease the tension at work. It's my way of diverting my attention so as not to burn myself from work @celestyne15. Thank you for swinging by. God speed.💖🕊️
That sounds like a very dynamic role! I can definitely relate to the necessity of that first cup of something warm, like coffee, to kickstart the creative process.
A mischievous COO, you say? That certainly adds an interesting dimension to the workday. When you love what you do, it brings a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment once you complete your tasks. It can be quite rewarding! Of course, give my regards to your pogi Boss! Hahaha
Hahaha...you were also caught off guard by my COO's pretty face, huh? Sometimes his kakulitan is a pain to the ass, especially if it's out of my framework and I am juggling my time with editing and writing content for the CEO.
He always used his charm to get me to do the work that was assigned to him by the CEO. There are times I would ignore him due to the swarm of paperwork. Sometimes, I would turn off my phone so he could not reach me, but he always got in the way. So impish! Watta guy! 🤣🤣🤣
Getting work done will indeed heighten your satisfaction and fulfillment. Thanks for swinging by @luthis26. God speed.💖🕊️
Your working days must be pretty hectic. Your boss believes in your capabilities so she tends to have high expectations, but for sure, your performance also exceeds her expectations. I admire your lady boss for being supportive of your son's medical needs in the past. You're so artistic; I like the textile art painting of yours. Truly, those creative juices are put to the test.
Happy Monday, dear @bettsmarie09! I always give importance to my work and see to it that I've done it on time or ahead of the deadline. I want my work to be clean of errors as I go to it thoroughly before submission because I don't want any back job. My performance isn't excellent but I see to it that I can deliver what is expected of me.
Yes, Madame is a kind-hearted lady ready to extend her hand to those in need. I am so blessed that she supported my son's medical needs and offered me as her writer and assistant editor in their family publishing business which I enjoyed so much that unfolded my potential in writing and editing. I'm very grateful to her.
I love art. My creativity brings out the best in me. Through this medium, I can express myself through it. It is also my bread and butter.🥰
Thanks for fetching around my post. God speed. 🌷💖🕊️
You're a very kind and patient person. I admire you 🥰 Hard working and creative, too. It's wonderful how you could find work-life balance in your day-to-day life. I really wonder how you do it. 😉 Can you share tips? Hihihi! Nevertheless, I wish you more happiness, energy, and creative juices ☺️
Hi there, @kamustakymmy! Thank you so much for engaging. When my son passed away almost two years ago, I focused on my job as a content writer and assistant editor to my CEO. It helps me alleviate the grief of losing a son. If I'm bored, I turn to textile painting, drawing, crocheting, embroidering, paper quilling, fresh blossom art, or writing poems. I always keep myself busy. I engage with friends on messenger, have a little chit-chat and sometimes I go out to be with nature or have a little chat with friends in the village. I go back home and resume my day-to-day tasks with meals in between and house chores. I also watch movies on YT, usually Hallmark stories, to keep my mind away from the thorn of the flesh. I always pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit and Mother Mary. When my bed calls me to sleep, I climb up into bed and say adieu for the day.🌷
Thanks a lot for swinging by. God bless. 💖🕊️
I'm sorry for your son. Wherever he is now, I hope he is at peace and happy. For doing so many things in a day, by that I mean a looooot, I wish you get good rest at night, especially after your deep, heartfelt prayers. Bless you! 🙏🙏🙏
I gradually moved forward, though the pain was still there. But life must go on. Don't worry dear, I do have a good rest. I say my prayers of gratitude for God's goodness for the whole day that I spent being alive and the blessings He provided me before I climbed to bed when I felt sleep. Thanks for the concern. Take care. God bless you, dear @kamustakymmy.

No biggie, @asean.hive. It's an honor.💖
You're better off nowadays because you can work online unlike before when we travel by bus though I usually took a taxi to avoid being late. But hey, the taxi fare from Monumento going to Tandang Sora only cost 5 PHP (with 15 pesos/day minimum wage)
Actually, you boss is not my type because he's more beautiful than me. Lol! His face means trouble. 🤣
Seriously, I am happy for you dear. You have moved on or shall we say, still trying to, but I know your son is happy that he had stayed with you longer despite his condition. You're a strong woman like me, busy as always but keep your health in place okay?
Hey, there @sarimanok! It's been a long while. I usually took a jeepney with my friends, a 10-minute ride to my workplace when I was in Metro Manila. I just take a cab whenever I fetch Hotel guests from the airport (NAIA), and the hotel's service vehicle isn't available. If I remember it right, the fare at that period was only P50, and I would reimburse it at the accounting office.☺️
You're right. His type is a thorn in the chest🤣🤣🤣but he's a nice boss after all, though there's a naughtiness in him. He respected me as a sister and showered me with healthy foods and gifts..🤫🤫🤫
I missed my big boy every day. I gradually accepted his demise though the pain lingers deep in my soul. Yes, just like you I keep myself busy. Don't worry I keep myself in check when it comes to my health. I am grateful to God that he made me strong each day to face all the challenges in life.💖
