A New Beginning Of My Life As I Turn A New Chapter: Today Marks My Sixty-and-Three Years Of Existence

Hello, fellow #Hiveians! I genuinely hope and pray that everyone is having a blessed day and is in the pink of health.

Age is just a number, so they say, and so I say! As I age, my hair turns gray and white. That is the sign of WISDOM. My wrinkles show a sign of how I see and solve the problems that come my way in my journey in life. As my skin sags as I get older, it is purely a sign of how I survived, moved on, and moved forward after the twists and turns that came into my life and that is the beauty of the aging woman. The spark that remains in the spirit shines from the eyes; with my wrinkles and conventional expressions, I am a part of the road map to a better life. A true blue, silver slate lady.

I don't celebrate lavish birthdays, though friends sent gifts, and I am so grateful that they remember my special day. 🌷 My practice every birthday is to light a candle to reflect and offer a Thanksgiving Mass.

How does it feel at sixty-three? When you reach your senior year, for me, it is a time for reflection on the year that was and what is ahead to strive for. I guess it is a sort of personal "New Year," one where resolutions can be made, promises to the self. For me, I plan to be bolder, to speak louder about the ideas I have for making a better world for all life on Earth. Perhaps that extra bit of bravery, that extra bit of willpower and resolve, is the real gift to myself from me. This time next year I will be a better person, then make another resolution the year after.

As the saying goes: Don't count the fine lines on your forehead or under your eyes; instead, count your blessings and the lessons you've learned from them and the people who were with you in your JOURNEY in LIFE.

In autumn of one's life seemed like a faraway destination on some unexplored horizon, but it had arrived, just as one foot in front of the other can take you thousands of miles if you keep walking. The strong influence of my life on others will deepen as the wrinkles on my face deepen. I want to embrace old age gracefully, not with a colossal spending binge. But, for the time being, I'll just relax with my favorite cup of coffee and watch the birds, the butterflies, and the cheerfully growing plants in the yard.

I have my fair share of life's challenges and trials, and I have survived my life's lessons under God's glitters of love. I am guided by His light, purified by His water. Oftentimes, I want to give up, as all of us do, when I feel exhausted, but then a little voice whispers in my ears to go on and stand my feet firm on the ground as the Holy Spirit guides me through. I may feel tired of fighting the same reasons in life. I am now sixty-three, and in all my trials, there is a hidden purpose, a hidden blessing. Yes! God allows my life to be rocky to polish me to become a brilliant gem! I am grateful that God has given me another chance to live. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of life.
