Meta the company that owns Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp has entered the AI industry because they understand the future potential.
With a lot of experimentation, Meat has been able to create an AI system that can solve very old and difficult math problems. Not just a mere hard math problem but something that, even the smartest people could not solve all these years.
These math problems involve something called Lyapunov functions and I'm not too familiar with it because I hate math anyways but I got curious with the progress they made.
Lyapunov functions helps to figure out if a system will stay stable and behave in a predictable way, that's what I heard it does.
One popular example is the "three-body problem" where three objects, like planets, move due to their gravity. That's very technical for me but it has been extremely hard for mathematicians to describe how they will move.
Right now, Meta says its AI can now solve these kinds of problems, these problems that have been a mystery for more than a century.
With tools like this coming up, it could help scientists and mathematicians understand many complex systems and how they behave over time. And you already know that the smarter we get, the better tools we can create and make like easier, more convenient and even fun.
AI I believe is the best tool we can use to find answers to tough math questions. I bet when we create a public use one, the students would love to use this to solve their math homework. They're already using chatgpt and I tried it, it got me the answer and all the steps to finding the answer.
