Sept-Amber day 9: A Bear Fishing

image.png
Hello my creative friends, I made a drawing of a bear for the 9th prompt of the Sept-Amber drawing challenge. The prompt is "a bear fishing". Since I already made a drawing of a bear for the day 2 prompt I will use that same bear character and make it ready for fishing.

How I made my drawing:

This is the bear from the day 2 prompt which is about a warm woolly scarf. If you noticed I edited the mouth of this cute bear to make it look happy. Gave him a mouth that looks like it is smiling to change the mood a bit. The nose is quite dark on the original image need to lighten it and the face is now slightly angled to the left to give him that big grin.

What did I add? well the fishing rod which is made from old dried branches and a bucket filled with catch. The arms needed to be edited too so he can hold the rod and the bucket and the scarf stayed the same but I added some fluff to it.

This is already looking done for me but I will add a new background and some shadows and highlights to complete the dusk time look although in the end the blue background made it looking like night time. I can't use the warm amber color because that would blend the bear in the background and not pop at all.

Here I started adding the shadows then changed the color of the background from white to warm gray. After that the highlights

This is the third iteration of the background none of the previous made sense or helped with the story and mood. As much as I wanted to find the right background this is getting too long to finish and I must stop for now before I feel less confident and avoid procrastinating.

Thanks for reading my post hope you like my depiction of the prompt.
