Today I bring you a post to give you my opinion and prediction of what will happen in just 3 hours from the time I am writing these lines, that is, 3 a.m. (Venezuela time), with a new final of the biggest League of Legends tournament and one of the most watched events in the world known as Worlds.
This year, once again we have T1, the most successful team in the tournament with a total of 5 titles, standing out significantly from other teams, with the icon of this game and of esports in general, Lee Sang-hyeok, better known as Faker.
Their rivals will be the Korean team known as KT Rolster, led by one of this year's best mid laners, who has demonstrated a huge difference in mechanics and mentality compared to other teams that were favorites to win this year's world championship (sorry GenG). But then, what makes this Worlds special compared to previous ones? Here are a few points on that subject.

El día de hoy les traigo un post para darles mi opinión y predicción de lo que se vendrá en tan solo 3 horas desde que estoy redactando estas líneas, es decir, 3am (Hora Venezuela) con una nueva final del torneo más grande de League Of Legends y uno de los eventos más sintonizados del mundo conocido como el Worlds.
Este año, una vez más tenemos por un lado a T1, el equipo más ganador del torneo con un total de 5 galardones, teniendo una diferencia muy notoria contra otros equipos, con el ícono de este juego y de los deportes electrónicos en general como lo es Lee Sang-hyeok, mejor conocido como Faker.
Sus rivales serán el equipo koreano conocido como KT Rolster, liderado por uno de los mejores mid laners de este año por haber demostrado una diferencia abismal de mecánicas y mentalidad a comparación de otros equipos que se veían favoritos a ganar el mundial de este año (lo siento GenG); pero entonces, ¿qué es lo que hace especial este worlds con respecto a los anteriores? Acá te daré algunos puntos al respecto.
1.- The First "Telecom War" in History in a Final, after 12 years of rivalry
Many people probably don't understand why it's called the "Telecom War" when T1 and KT Rolster face each other, but the reason is simple: both teams belong (or belonged) to a telecommunications company in Korea. In the case of KT Rolster, they belong to KT Corporation, while T1 belongs to a company known as SK Telecom. For this reason, the team was previously known as SKT T1, but in October 2019, they underwent a rebranding motivated by commercial alliances, which simplified the name to what we know today.
Twelve years ago, a rivalry began that would leave a legacy between both teams. Faker rose to stardom and began to build what is now the greatest historical milestone not only in the history of League of Legends but in the history of e-sports in general through a play he made against KT Rolster in a match that would decide who would go to the World Championship that season as the Korean representative. It was Faker's first season as a professional player, and he immortalized himself by winning a duel against Ryu, a mid laner who was already renowned for doing this:
From that moment on, T1's matches against KT Rolster would never be the same, as both teams would be marked by a very special rivalry that always provides us with great moments.
1.- La Primera "Telecom War" de la Historia en una Final, luego de 12 años de rivalidad
Muchas personas seguramente no entienden el porqué le llaman la "Telecom War" cuando T1 y KT Rolster se enfrentan, pero el motivo es simple; ambos equipos pertenecer (o pertenecieron) a una empresa de Telecomunicaciones en Korea, en el caso de KT Rolster, pertenecen a KT Corporation, mientras que T1 pertenece a una compañía conocida como SK Telecom, por esto, anteriormente el equipo se conocía como SKT T1, pero en Octubre de 2019, tuvieron un rebranding motivado a alianzas comerciales que hizo que el nombre se simplificara al que conocemos en la actualidad.
Hace 12 años, comenzaba una rivalidad que dejaría un legado entre ambos equipos, Faker llegó al estrellato y comenzaría a construir lo que hoy en día es el mayor hito histórico no solo de la historia de League Of Legends sino de la historia de los E-Sports en general a través de una jugada que realizó en contra de KT Rolster en una partida que decidiría quién iría al Mundial de esa temporada como representante Koreano, era la primera temporada de Faker como jugador profesional y se inmortalizó al ganarle un duelo a Ryu, un mid laner que ya tenía renombre al hacer esto:
A partir de ese momento, las partidas de T1 contra KT Rolster no serían lo mismo, ya que ambas estarían marcadas por una rivalidad muy particular que siempre nos regalan buenos momentos.
2.- Mechanical Deployment
From the LCK (League of Legends Champions Korea) or the Korean League of Legends league, both teams demonstrated an incredibly high level of mechanics, as we have come to expect from T1 and Faker, but the surprise provided by Bdd this season has been incredible. He has managed to defeat all of the current competitive legends, including ** Chovy** from GenG, the person who they say could be the one to follow Faker in legacy, and Zeka, a beast from Hanwha Life Esports, both with incredible mechanical abilities.
The KT Rolster roster has shown impressive balance in every match it has faced in best-of-3 or best-of-5 series, dominating and crushing everything in its path, It reminds us a bit of the famous DRX that managed to defeat T1 in that 2022 Worlds final, when they achieved the epic feat of eliminating all the best teams in the competition from the Play-Ins phase and managed to beat T1 3-2 in a best-of-5.
2.- Despliegue Mecánico
Desde la LCK (League Of Legends Champions Korea) o la liga Koreana de League Ff Legends, ambos equipos demostraron un nivel de mecánicas increíblemente alto, ya T1 y Faker nos tienen acostumbrados a ello, pero la sorpresa que ha dado Bdd esta temporada ha sido de locura, ha alcanzado a derrotar a todas las máximas leyendas del competitivo de la actualidad, pasando por Chovy de GenG, la persona que dicen que puede ser el que le siga a Faker en legado y Zeka una bestia de Hanwha Life Esports, ambos con capacidades mecánicas increíbles.
El roster de KT Rolster ha demostrado un balance impresionante en cada match al que se ha enfrentado al mejor de 3 o mejor de 5, ha sido muy dominante y ha logrado aplastar a todo lo que se atraviese a su paso, nos recuerda un poco al famoso DRX que logró vencer a T1 en aquella final del Worlds de 2022, cuando lograron la épica de eliminar a todos los mejores equipos del competitivo desde la fase de Play-Ins y lograron la épica de ganarle 3-2 en un mejor de 5 a T1.
Final Words
We are probably in for one of the best finals in history. The rivalry will surely give us a lot to talk about today, and we will see a T1 team that is not coming off its best games but can always surprise us by having the best player in history in its ranks, as well as a roster that always has the tools to turn any scenario around.
On the KT Rolster side, we have a fresh roster that wants to fulfill its dream of ending T1's hegemony and reign in the biggest competitive event of the year in League of Legends so that Bdd can win his first world championship ring and go down in the history of competitive gaming.
There is a lot at stake for both sides. Faker has not lost his hunger to be victorious again, and the T1 roster wants to win its third consecutive LoL final, something that the former SKT T1 was unable to do. Will they be able to surpass the legacy of the greatest, or will even the gods have a limit to their greatness?

Nos espera probablemente una de las mejores finales de la historia, seguramente la rivalidad nos dará mucho de qué hablar el día de hoy y veremos un T1 que no viene de jugar sus mejores partidas pero que siempre puede sorprender por tener al mejor jugador de la historia en sus filas, además de tener un roster que siempre puede tener herramientas para darle vuelta a cualquier escenario.
Por el lado de KT Rolster, tenemos un roster fresco, que quiere cumplir un sueño de acabar con la hegemonía y el reinado de T1 en el máximo evento competitivo del año de League Of Legends para que Bdd alcance su primer anillo como ganador de mundiales y se enliste dentro de la historia del competitivo del juego.
Hay mucho que jugarse por ambos bandos, Faker no pierde el hambre de volver a salir victorioso, el roster de T1 quiere ganar su tercera final consecutiva de LoL, cosa que no pudo hacer el antiguo SKT T1, ¿podrán superar el legado de lo más grande o hasta los dioses tendrán un límite dentro de su grandeza?
