Welcome back to my blog, everyone! Today I bring you my classic review to start the week with energy. Today I bring you a band that I feel is one of my all-time favorites, but instead of bringing you a particular album, I bring you something much better: a live performance.
A while back, there was a show on MTV (Music Television) called Unplugged, which was a concert recorded with incredible acoustics to give a feeling of intimacy and closeness between the audience and the artist. In this case, for me, this is one of the best I've ever heard, especially for that era, So, without further ado, I bring you my favorite songs by the band Zoé in this format.

El día de hoy les traigo mi clásica reseña para empezar la semana con energía, el día de hoy les traigo una banda que siento que es de mis favoritas históricas pero en lugar de traerles un disco/álbum particular, les traigo algo mucho mejor: una presentación en vivo.
Hace tiempo, existía un formato en el canal MTV (Music TeleVision) llamado Unplugged, el cuál era un concierto grabado increíblemente bien acústicamente para dar una sensación de intimidad y cercanía entre la audiencia y el artista, y en este caso, para mí este es uno de los mejores que escuché en mi vida, sobretodo por la época, así que, sin más que agregar, les traigo mis canciones favoritas de la banda Zoé en este formato.
1.- Luna
This is not only the best song in this format, by this band, and so on, I can say with complete certainty that this is my favorite song of all time, and giving that title to a piece of music when my tastes are so extremely broad is a very special responsibility, but the connection I have with this song is simply magical, it is totally indescribable and mystical.
I have always said that this song is the sound of my soul, as I am a hopelessly romantic and melancholic person who always longs for a love so intense that it slowly consumes me. The phrase "give me just one kiss, enough to last me until I die..." has had such an impact on me that I always carry it with me, and I have come to experience many phrases from this song that make so much sense.
"Like an addiction that hurts me, I want to look into your eyes" — I have often experienced unrequited love or situations in which love has died for one person, but for me it never dies, it just evolves, which is why I don't like to love people, I don't like to open myself up to loving anyone because they become indelible marks within me; With this song, I express it and listen to it, I relive it and feel it, my soul smiles, cries, and I start over. It's perfect.
Esta no es solo la mejor canción de este formato, de esta banda y demás, puedo decir con toda certeza que esta es mi canción favorita de toda la vida, y darle ese título a una obra musical cuando mis gustos son tan extremadamente amplias es una responsabilidad muy particular, pero la conexión que tengo con esta canción es simplemente mágica, es totalmente inefable y mística.
Siempre he dicho que esta canción es el sonido de mi alma al ser una persona perdidamente romántica y melancólica, que vive siempre anhelando un amor tan intenso que me consuma lentamente, la frase "dame solo un beso, que me alcance hasta morir..." me ha marcado tanto que siempre la llevo conmigo y he llegado a vivir muchas frases de esta canción que tienen demasiado sentido.
"Como un vicio, que me duele, quiero mirarte a los ojos" - muchas veces he vivido amores no correspondidos o situaciones en los que el amor ha muerto para una persona, pero para mí nunca muere, solo evoluciona, por eso no me gusta querer a las personas, no me gusta abrirme a querer a nadie porque se vuelven huellas imborrables dentro de mí; con esta canción lo plasmo y lo escucho, lo vuelvo a vivir y lo siento, mi alma sonríe, llora y me reinicio, es perfecta.
2.- Soñé
This song is very powerful for me because it has very intense lyrics about the intimate connection one can have with someone. In fact, I feel that someday I would like to be intimate with someone I love and desire deeply, at full volume, but get close enough to hear the song and listen to that person remind me why we love to explore each other.
I feel that something that makes me identify so much with this band is the fact that they can talk about a subject like this, but transform it into poetry so as not to border on vulgarity. It's the perfect definition of making art. Love is an art, sex is too, and this song has it all.
Esta canción es muy fuerte para mí, porque tiene una letra muy intensa con respecto a la conexión íntima que uno puede tener con alguien, y de hecho, yo siento que algún día me gustaría intimar con alguien a quién ame y desee demasiado, a todo volúmen, pero acercarme lo suficiente como para escuchar la canción y escuchar a esa persona recordarme el porqué amamos explorarnos.
Siento que algo que me hace identificarme demasiado con esta banda es el hecho de cómo pueden hablar de un tema como este, pero transformarlo en poesía para no rayar en lo vulgar, es la definición perfecta de hacer arte, el amor es un arte, el sexo también y esta canción lo tiene todo.
3.- Labios Rotos
I really like these lyrics because they're like asking that person to let you into their life. The lyrics are very powerful because they talk about how a person doesn't want to let you in because they're hurt, because they have fears that prevent them from getting close to you, but you love them so much that you feel you can help them heal, that you can love them to build something beautiful.
I love the lyrics in the chorus when they say, "Love is strange, it appears when you least expect it." I've always thought that love is built, not sought, but that door opens by chance or sometimes by cause, but it's intriguing.
I really love the format of these songs with so much symphonic instrumentation, in this case even using a xylophone. I love it so much.
Esta letra me gusta mucho porque es como hacerle una petición a esa persona para que te permita entrar en su vida, la letra es muy fuerte porque habla sobre el cómo una persona no quiere dejarte entrar porque está herida, porque tiene miedos que no le permiten acercarse a ti, pero tú le quieres tanto que sientes que puedes ayudar a que sane, que puedes amarla para construir algo hermoso.
Me encanta la letra del estribillo cuando dicen que "Es raro el amor, que se te aparece, cuando menos lo esperas", yo siempre he pensado que el amor se construye, no se busca, pero esa puerta se abre de forma casual o a veces causal, pero es intrigante.
Me encanta mucho el formato con el que están hechas estas canciones con tanta instrumentación sinfónica, en este caso hasta utilizando un xilófono, me encanta demasiado.
Bonus Track.- Paula
I'm saving this song for last because I find it interesting how artists used to tell personal stories in their lyrics, and I feel that in this one in particular, León Larregui, the lead singer of Zoé, was probably venting about a personal situation he experienced with a Paula, whom he asks for forgiveness for his mistakes.
These lyrics are harsh because many of us have been him, many of us have been Paula, and so on. Life has put us in different situations that have taught us things. Hurting people is totally inevitable. Some people do it more intentionally than others, some do it out of ignorance, some out of malice, but in the end, you have to know how to forgive yourself and forgive the other person so you don't get caught up in a cycle of darkness and resentment. Love always prevails, even if it no longer belongs to anyone.
Traigo esta canción para el final porque me parece curioso el cómo antes habían artistas que contaban historias personales entre sus versos y siento que en esta particularmente León Larregui, el vocalista principal de Zoé, estaba desahogando probablemente una situación personal que vivió con una Paula a la que le pide perdón por sus errores cometidos.
Esta letra es ruda porque muchos hemos sido él, muchos hemos sido Paula, y así sucesivamente la vida nos ha puesto en diversas situaciones que nos han enseñado cosas, herir a la gente es totalmente inevitable, algunas personas lo hacen con más intención que otras, algunas lo hacen por ignorancia, algunas por malicia, pero al final, hay que saber perdonarse uno mismo y perdonar a la otra persona para no quedar atrapado en un ciclo de oscuridad y rencor, el amor siempre prevalece, aunque ya no le pertenezca a nadie.
