Venezuelans March and Celebrate at the Obelisk.

Yesterday, the obelisk was the meeting point for many Venezuelans to celebrate the events of January 3 in the early hours of the morning. This is not a political post, but rather a report on what happened yesterday after it was announced that the president of Venezuela had been removed from the country. After more than two decades, I think there were many of us who were waiting for this moment, and beyond any international political or economic intentions, it is a feeling that many of us share.
Over many years, the wave of migration had been increasing, and many of us had left the country in search of a dignified life, a better quality of life, and new and better opportunities.

It was a party and you could feel the energy of each person, an energy of liberation, although I question whether this is fleeting and we are not totally liberated from what we really want. Even so, I think that this day has been and will be historic for both Venezuela and foreigners. Argentina has always been an ally of Venezuelan immigrants and has supported every situation in favor of the people in this country. The famous obelisk was lit up with the colors of the Venezuelan flag, and there was a celebration with live music and entertainment.
This has been a spontaneous meeting point; it is always where people tend to gather, although there were also gatherings at the Venezuelan embassy in Argentina, part of the Palermo woods, and even the planetarium screens dedicated projections related to this event.

I'm not really one for attending these kinds of political events, but in this case it's different. I've lived through and been part of many situations that have also led me to leave my country, so I understand many of the reasons why every Venezuelan was there and why the emotions were shared. Beyond all this and in relation to the event covered, I hope you enjoyed these photos of a different afternoon in the city of Buenos Aires and especially at the Obelisk.
I hope you have a good Sunday and a good start to the week tomorrow.

That's all folks! Thanks for stopping by and appreciating.

I'm still baffled by what happened in Venezuela, my friend. Although it was something we saw coming, it honestly caught me by surprise. I understand what you're describing because I'm Cuban, and politics has hurt us a lot over these decades. God willing, a better future will come for all our Venezuelan brothers and sisters. Hugs, and let's raise a glass to a better future!
I know what Cuba has suffered for decades; in some way, we identify with you. That's why I really appreciate your words and good wishes, my friend. Thank you so much 🙏🏻🫂
Greetings my friend, and let's raise a glass to a better future for everyone!
This must be a scary time to celebrate. The socialists still have an iron lock on local power and are known to take actions against critics of their regimes. If I was a Venezuelan, I would not want a picture of my face associated with a celebration at this time.
