An imposing and important structure that began its history in 1916, a tower that was called the English Tower because it was a gift from the United Kingdom for the Centennial of the May Revolution, although it was originally going to be named the Centennial Tower, but it remained popularly known as the English Tower for many decades. It was not until 1982, due to the Falklands War, that the government decided to change its name because of this conflict and make it more appropriate.

During these times of war, the tower had already been vandalized, damaging and removing all the plaques with English inscriptions.

It's a Buenos Aires icon located in the Retiro neighborhood, and it's a beautiful tourist area to visit. They also usually open the entrance to the tower to visit the viewpoint and appreciate both the interior and the view of the city from up there.

I wasn't actually in the square where the tower is, but rather in San Martín Square because the view from there is more impressive, and you can compose better scenes.

My intention in returning to the square and taking some photos of the tower was not specifically of the tower itself, but I wanted to compose something different. The first thing was to focus on the people who were admiring the structure, and the second was to try to capture some planes above the tower. I wanted to do it as accurately as possible, but the weather didn't help; I was only there for about 20 minutes before the storm hit.

However, I am sure that some shots can be salvaged from this day or from this moment there in San Martín Square.
