Geese of the Palermo Forest - Monomad Challenge.

There is nothing more relaxing, nothing more peaceful, than visiting the Palermo Woods with a camera in hand. Sitting on the shore of the lake, accompanied by a few geese, surrounded by beautiful scenery and good weather, and simply dedicating yourself to photographing these beautiful models that are there.
They also enjoy the day, they wait for someone to throw them some food and, almost unconsciously, end up modeling for you and your lens.
The truth is that I have photographed these geese on many occasions, but they were always quick shots, snapshots. I would arrive at the lake shore, take a couple of pictures, and continue on my way. It was never something I really devoted myself to.

This time was different. This time I sat down, intending to clear my mind for a while. Not to think about anything. Just to be there, live in the present, and breathe some fresh air.
And, of course, also try to get a nice shot. A different, unique shot. I think I achieved that with the first photo. It is, without a doubt, my favorite of the whole set.
The other images also seem very different to me from what I had been doing before. Even the textures and expressions of the geese feel different, closer, more real.

Whenever I photograph animals, I try to stay close to the ground, or at least at their height. I think that makes the image much more interesting, and I feel like it really works that way.
I'm not an academic photographer. Everything I do comes more from instinct, in an empirical way. I photograph how I feel.
I also try to make sure the shots have a decisive moment, just as I do in street photography or architectural photography.

I look for shadows, wait for the light to hit the subject, let the scene come together on its own, and when it does, I shoot.
I hope you liked this series, that you enjoyed it, and I wish you a wonderful weekend.

That's all folks. Thanks for stopping by and appreciating.

Thank You very much for participating and for being part of the Black And White Community!
All the photos are wonderful, but the second photo is the best for me, I immediately remembered my childhood years spent in the village. So thank you for the pleasant memories 😊
