Visiting Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple 🙏📿☮️
Nestled amidst the breathtaking Sahyadri mountain range in the Indian state of Maharashtra,India. Situated around 30 km from Nashik, lies the ancient Trimbakeshwar Temple.
Renowned as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (holy abodes of Lord Shiva) in India this sacred pilgrimage site has drawn devotees, seekers, and curious travelers for centuries. I visited this beautiful temple last week with my friend. We took the bus from Nashik, and it took around 40 mins to reach there. We have to stand in the queue for 3 hrs, as it was Monday(considered Shiva’s Day) so huge rush.
It is believed to have been built during the reign of the Peshwas, the temple holds deep historical and mythological significance. It is said that the sacred Godavari River originates from the Brahmagiri Hills in this very vicinity. The temple's architecture showcases a blend of traditional Indian temple design and craftsmanship. Adorned with intricate carvings, and captivating sculptures.
The main feature of Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple is that the jyotirlinga has three faces representing the gods - Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma. They all exist within the hollow space within the Shivalinga. Hence the name Trimbakeshwara (Three Lords) Source
Beyond the temple's spiritual aura, Trimbakeshwar offers a picturesque backdrop of natural beauty. Surrounded by the Brahmagiri Hills.
If you are planning to visit Trimbakeshwar, do visit the nearby falls. We couldn’t as it was the start of monsoon, so most of the waterfalls were empty. Avoid visiting on Mondays or festival days as you'll experience a huge rush there.

Any Monkeys there... generally monkeys hangout in these places. And they even come to steal temple prasada(:
What I liked here is the background man, mountain environment. You should have visited the waterfalls area too... even if there are no waterfalls.
Nice to see travelling is still on with Nature around, nowadays tourism and unsustainable development to encourage and make money out of tourists has killed the beauty of the places.
Hope, we have nature always intact so we can travel and experience it and enjoy something of life.
I am no temple creature, but yes, its lovely na..the architecture and if its amist the mountains, whats there to complain!! ...its fun!!
Yeah, but no monkeys here. I agree with you the mountains and weather were adding beauty to the place. We were running short of time too so couldn't explore nearby waterfalls. But yeah in future we will forsure explore. Thankyou for stopping by 😊
