monomad spotted doves
My entry for the #monomad challenge created by @brumest and hosted at @monochromes
Spotted doves (Spilopelia chinensis)
almost every day, i went to the cemetary park with my gear. yep. with my heavy lens to shoot birds. I look and listen for birds. scanning the horizon. duing sunrise and sunset for birds. This spotted doves has adapted well at the park. it's common and it's everywhere. In the trees and grassland, i see them resting and looking for foods. One thing i learned about this birds is that most of the time they are in pairs.
spotted doves measure about 28-32 cm (11-12.5 inches) in length. bird this size is easy to shoot. you can surely get a good photo. Small birds are harder, I try to get closer just to get a nice photo, plus small birds jumps and move so fast.
Here it's doing the mating call. thats why its neck looks bigger.
found it hiding on a grassland.
This last one. it looks unique. thou it has the looks of a spotted doves. what surprise me is why no spots on it's neck like the real spotted doves. could it be because it's a juvenile? that has not yet develop the spots on its neck.
