📸 PhotoFeed Contest - Cityscape Photography #149 : Plaza Bolivar in Bogotá, Colombia

La Candelaria with cobbled streets and impressive churches is the colonial barrio of this city. The photo shows Plaza Bolivar, which has a statue of Simon Bolivar in the middle. You can see it in the background. The Cathedral Primada is the building that dominates the left side of the photo. It is not the original church. Several churhes has been built on this spot. The third was left in ruins after an earthquake in 1786. The building that is here today, was completed in 1823. It is built in a neoclassical style, just as the building to the right -Capitolio Nacional – which is the seat of the congress. It's possible to book free 3 hour tours. STOPAs Christmas is fast approaching, this photo allows me to wish you a happy holiday season.
Wish you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season too🙂
This square is very large. La Candelaria is a nice neighbourhood of Bogota.
You are right! That Square is huge, but it is a nice area to walk around. The Plaza does have some impressive architecture.
Loving the neoclassical style!
Qué buena foto para re significar a este icónico lugar. ¡Bravo!
Colombia is a country I should like to go back to🥰
