📸 PhotoFeed Contest - Black & White Photography #135 : Below water for 25 years

This photo was taken in Argentina, in Villa Epecuén, which is located by the Lake Epecuén and only a few kilometers from the town called Carhue. As you can see on the photo, this town is no longer inhabited. We can only see the ruins of what was once a prosperous spa town by the lake. In 1985 it was flooded, because of storms and a broken dam. There was a dike for protection, but it gave up and left the town beneath 10 meters of water. It took 25 years for most of the water to recide. This is what it looks like when I was here two years ago. It's cool that you got to introduce places we haven't heard before.
🙂😄
Fantastic work!
Congratulations and thank you for sharing it without hesitation!
It's fascinating and sad to think about what the town once was and the story behind it. The black-and-white effect really enhances the eerie, ghost-town atmosphere 🙌
