A disaster, just a beautiful one.

We all love love, don't we?
It could be love for a person, love for a pet or most importantly, love for food but that's not what I'm here to talk about.

Before I discovered that I had the ability to piece words together to make a story, I used to be a reader.
Well I still am, just that now, most of my time is spent writing instead.
During the Covid- 19 pandemic, we were all stuck in our houses.

I hadn't discovered Hive then, it would have been so nice though, anyway, since I wasn't a writer back then, I focused on reading and one of the many books I read was...
The Beautiful Disaster

The main reason I started this post with, don't we all love love is because that's what the book was about, Love.

Three years later, they decided that it being a book wasn't enough and it had to be made into a movie.
It aired on the 12th of April, unfortunately I was wasn't able to see it until three days ago because of exams and the stress that accompanied it.

This is a popular question.
Would you rather read the book or see the movie?
My answer is simple, read the book then watch the movie.
Beautiful Disaster staring Dylan Sprouse and Virginia Gardner was a blast.

For the first couple of minutes, I thought it was too face paced, everything was just happening too fast from the moment Abby and Travis met up until the minute the dare was made.

Forgive me, I didn't even say what the movie was about.
Abby also known as Lucky 13 moves to a new city to start afresh, away from being her father's poker prodigy where she meets Travis, the bad boy underground fighter( their words not mine) and like all good stories, it's attraction at first sight, then pretence, then the moment we've all the waiting for, eventually love.

College was supposed to be point that turns Abby around, she just wanted to to be normal until her best friend America invited her to an underground fighting match and this happened.

The moment when time freezes and it's only the two of them in the world. I don't know if that actually happens in real life.

He said, "Who are you? You are distracting me and I have to say, I don't ever get distracted".
I guess he knew from the very first moment that she was the one.
Sigh

I think this was the first feel of what her life was to become with him. She wanted a new start, away from the drama, yet she walked right into the middle of it.

And then the story really began here when the bet was made.
Travis said, "If I avoid getting hit even once then you have to stay with me for a month".
At this point I was smiling like someone that had an expression disorder.

Of course we know Travis wasn't going to get hit, that's the whole point of it.
From the book, I already knew what would happen but it was better to pretend.

Abby loses the bet and moves in with Travis, days past and our bad boy realizes he is falling in love with the first girl to ever distract him and so on her birthday when she gets so drunk, he tells her,

"So when I tell you I'm madly in love with you".
She replies, "I won't remember it🥺"

Things don't always go well for so long, there's always a curve ball that changes things and that came when Abby had to return to Las Vegas to go help her father who was in deep trouble with the huge amount of money he owes.
So here's is Abby or should I say Lucky 13 looking like a million bucks trying to fix her father's mess.

We all love a happy ending and I most especially loved the smile on Abby's face.
Twists and turns, her father was actually working against her with an old time friend and the supposed man he was owing.
He tried to hustle the hustler.

It's not a college romance story without a kiss or two, so here is one but don't look too long.

Together they were a disaster, just a beautiful one.

I don't want it to be the end though.
There is still so much of their that has so much to be told.

I really loved the movie even though reading a book takes me into another world entirely where I get to imagine everything the exact way I want it to be, it's always nice to see it on a screen.
They couldn't have chosen a better person to play Abby, Virginia Gardner nailed the part and well as for Travis, Dylan Sprouse gets a pass because he is Dylan Sprouse.

If you love love, then Beautiful Disaster is for you.
