It never hurts to ask, even if you get an eye roll, it will show your boss that you are interested at the very least. I think you should go for it. I have to admit though, I was very distracted reading your post, those waves look so good!

Hahaha yeah the waves around here can be pretty good! We get a lot of surfers which is fun. I think my boss will be supportive if I drop a question like that on him, plus we are always looking for more things to get done!
