I have decided that today I write this post as the continuity of yesterday post. Yesterday I made a post about having an open backline would make your team lose badly. Nowadays many units have sneak ability and opportunity ability, so your backline is not safe anymore.

Easy to say that, so what should we do next? Put a tank in backline?

Actually it is a YES answer. However as many new units have these abilities, we have new units too that could counter them. Today I am sharing you this card, TOKATAG CONSCRIPT, which is actually a good backline tank.

I think Tokatag Conscript is a great unit. This card can be obtained free right now, because it is part of the recent soulbound cards. Later you have to buy it if you want to get this card.

Unfortunately most of my friends dislike this card because it doesn't make a kill. 1 range damage is not attractive, it kills your team momentum. And this alone is more than enough for people to forget about picking this card into their line up.

However people like me who like to play defensively, often see this card as a great alternative to trick or trap our opponents down. So let me share you my battle, which my Tokatag Conscript was actually the hero of the battle.

HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE

Ok this is the battle. At a glance, It seems that I have made a mistake there. How come I come with 4 units, challenging my opponent who comes with 6 units, and to put it worse... They have Katrelba Gobson there, one of the most dangerous gladiator available there.

This battle has 37 mana cap, so there should be no excuse for not going with 6 units team. However I had different opinion that time, because there there was a Counterspell ruleset in that battle, I believed people would go with melee and range units.

If you asked me, I would go with Katrelba Gobson, because that mana cap was ideal for her. You could not employ many big units, and mostlikely there are bunch of small units in your team.

The reason I chose to come with Katrelba Gobson counter meta, it was because I was very sure I might lose in level. So if both of us came with Katrelba Gobson, and they had higher level, it would be a one sided battle and I would end up losing badly.

Another reason was because I wanted to make this post. I wanted to show people that if every meta had their counter. So here we go, the counter of Katrelba Gobson

• The battle started with both side buffing their team and debuffing their opponent. They came with a melee line up only, they did not care about range units. My team was a mix, between melee and range units. As predicted, they had that Katrelba Gobson in their line up.
• They came with 12 melee damage per round, I was very lucky their Katrelba Gobson was level 3 only, so I had a bit of advantage there.
• My team had 8 melee damage and 3 range damage. Combined all, they became 11 damage per round. My team hit harder, It became my competitive advantage there.
• I belived I would win easily in this battle. I had their Katrelba Gobson counter there, the Tokatag Conscript. One thing I had to worry right now was the number of the units, my team was stronger but a lose in a unit mattered more to me.

• The first round was a massive disaster for them. First they lost their main tank, the Venari Knifer, my Marisol Contuma killed him and he got the bloodlust effect. The worst thing in the first round was they lost their Katrelba Gobson due to Tokatag Conscript Thorn ability.
• In this second round, even the condition was equal in term of 4 units against 4 units, there were big gaps there because all of my units were big units. This was the gamble I took from begining, I used Tokatag Conscript for the backline tank, then the rest were big boys. If they managed to kill one of my big boys, I might be losing... but they could not and now I was winning big!

• Round 3 was the last one. It was 1 vs 4 condition right now and I had my Marisol Contuma in full condition

• at this condition, nobody could beat him down. he got too strong, so this was the point to say good game!!

Katrelba Gobson Countered

Ok I would be specific here, the key point I want to show case here is their Katrelba Gobson was badly countered. It was straight out of the game directly, getting thorn damage to death.

After Katrelba Gobson was killed, we could say nobody else there could become the next threats. Regarding my line up which was far from perfect, maybe for a "decent" level was still questionable, it still became superior against my opponent because their meta was broken down. The Katrelba Gobson centered meta was no longer in function, their core unit got killed directly

As much I want to say Tokatag Conscript is a good unit, I must be fair too that this unit is not an easy to use one. If my opponent do not come with melee, let say they want to focus on range units building DPS (damage per second, It means the main damage dealer in some RPG game), I could lose easily.

Another consideration is that Tokatag Conscript won't perform well above 50 mana, because there are way btter units that could build up better meta rather than playing defensively with Tokatag Conscript. But still, she is a good units for below 40 mana cap.
