During Blast Ruleset - If No Reflection Shield Available, Make Sure Your Team Hit First

Welcome to my weekly Splinterlands post, as always, I write about Splinterlands game during Weekends. For Today topic, I sharing a thought about Explosive Weaponry Ruleset, or to be simple, I call it the Blast Ruleset.
The blast ruleset is an interesting one, because everyone on the battlefield will have blast ability. So everyone will shift their team to more attacking one, because the damage power is increased due to the blast effect.
There are many ways to benefit or exploit this as there are many ways too to counter this ruleset. The most effective one is a defensive approach by employing units which have Reflection Shield Ability. These units are immune to blast damage, so having them in certain spots could negate the blast abiity or the explosive weaponry ruleset.
Corsair Bosun is my favorite unit during the Explosive Weaponry. He has reflection shield which negate the blast effect, he hits hard and will make a good blast damage. The last, he has decent speed, so he won't hit the last. However this post is not about him
In this post, we are talking about what we should do if we don't have any reflection shield ability unit. Should we go with big damage?
My opinion, if we don't have any reflection shield, we should get the fastest team we can get. Let's check our battle then
HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE
Ok this is the battle I pick for today topic. There is a mistake on my side, which somehow I forget to rent some essential units. Let's see the ruleset first
There are only 2 choice, whether we go with Fire Element or with Life Element. I choose with Life Element because I want to use Corsair Bosun, which later I realize I forget to rent him so I do not have him in my selection list.
These two element has a similarity, which is both are usually damage buff type. Tarsa will buff +1 melee, and Fire Element has many good melee units who can attack from behind, either they use Reach, Opportunity or Sneak attack.
Life element will have General Sloan who buffs +1 range damage. Having many range is not a wise choice anyway, I could end up having them unable to attack because the tanks infront are killed too soon.
So what I should do now? Like I said above, rather than focus on Damage, I should build up my speed. I should be a bit saver because Life Element has some good speed units. So these two are my core units in this battle:
Supply Runner is very essential in this battle, because he will buff our team speed. That Swiftness is very important for building up a faster team against my opponent. The problem with Supply Runner is that he won't deal big damage, however I think General Sloan +1 Range Damage could help cover this weakness.
War Pegasus... This is quite an interesting pick. I should pick pelacor Arbalest if I seek for higher damage. The main reason I go with War Pegasus is because of I forget to Rent Anachron Bolter LoL. That time, War Pegasus is the fastest range attacker I have.
The most suitable one is this, Anachron Bolter. Too bad I forget to rent him and Corsair Bosun, this should be an easy win if I have both of them. but, let see, if my backup line up which focus on being faster than my opponent, could get me the win.
- The battle started with both side buffing their team and debuffing their opponent. This is not turning into Melee vs Range, both of us have a mix unit in our line up.
- They came with 5 Melee damage, 4 range damage and 6 magic damage. Their combined damage was 15 damage per round.
- My team had 6 Melee damage, 7 range damage and 5 magic damage, so in total my fire power became 18 damage per round.
- It looked like my team had been faster and hit stronger. I could say during Explosive Weaponry, this already could be said wrapped up. I won the battle. Well we would see this clearly next
- Due to massive damage from both side, both of us lost our tank in the first round. Our secondary tanks were heavily wounded too due to blast damage. they did not have reflection shield anyway.
- At this point my opponent looked in a bad condition, they could be wiped out in one go...
- Well they survived the second round, but this third round was the last. Good game
This was a quick battle, wasn't it? only in 3 rounds it's all over. In general they are some key issues we can take from it:
- Actually both of us were using the same tactic, we tried to win by getting a faster team. This was the sole reason why my opponent used two mages instead of a bunch of melee unit. Melee Units tend to be slower, although that was not the case. They were some fast melee units in Fire Element team.
- Their line up was backfired. They put mages on backline, although this seemed a wrong one, actually it was not a bad move. They wanted to protect their mages from blast damage, letting their range units died first. The problem in Fire Element is that their mages have lower health points, they are fast hitter, hit quite good, but easily get killed. Actually they are not a good choice for Explosive Weaponry ruleset.
- I believe if I brought Corsair Bosun and Anachron Bolsters, this battle would definitely became one sided and I could win by a bigger margin. But in general, I think you all get my point that if we don't have those units, better we go with the fastest... Hit First, blast them first, make them die first before they can hit us.
