WHEN PARENTS AND TEACHERS UNITE: Highlights from the Latest PTA Gathering
What's up my dear hivers? It's me again @desyah07 who loves to share memorable blogs with you. For today's blog I will share one of the highlights from the latest Parent-Teacher meeting.
In every thriving school community, there is an often overlooked yet profoundly impactful force working behind the scenes. The Parent- Teacher Association(PTA). It is in these meetings, often held in classrooms, or school auditoriums where conversations take place, concerns are raised, solutions are crafted and most importantly bridges are built within parents, teachers and school administrators.
As a teacher,my Grade 10-Emerald PTA meeting held on July 11, 2025 at Tambo National High School, Paranaque City was a reminder of the invaluable role that parents and the school community play in the academic and personal growth of our students. The meeting was not just another formal event on the school calendar, it was an opportunity in ways that truly benefit our students.
The atmosphere in the room was one of my unity and shared purpose. Parents arrived eager to learn more about how their children were progressing and how they could support them in the upcoming months. I began the meeting by introducing myself as an adviser using powerpoint presentation.
Next is providing an update on the class's academic performance highlighting key strengths, areas for growth and any notable trends I had observed. It was important for me to not only point out areas where students excelled but also discuss the challenges we might need to address, ensuring that all parents were informed and involved in their child's education.
The parents are very attentive listening to my discussion.
Some parents didn't attend the said meting because of their busy schedules. But others really made a way just to attend the PTA meeting and I really appreciate those efforts.
Here are the agendas I discussed during our PTA meeting:
I also appreciated the open dialogue we had during the Q and A session. Parents asked insightful questions about my teaching methods., classroom dynamis and how we could work together to address any academic or behavioral concerns. There was a shared understanding that communication is key and we all left the meeting with a stronger sense of partnership and mutual respect.
It was inspiring to hear from parents who were invested in not only their child's success but also in the overall development of the class as a whole.
Parents who are appointed as PTA Officers:
As a teacher, moments like these remind me why I became an educator in the first place. The Grade 10- Emerald PTA meeting was not just a discussion about grades or school policies-it was a reflection of the deep commitment we all have to nurturing the next generation. I left the meeting feeling enrgized, knowing that the partnership betwwn parents and teachers is one of the most powerful tools we have to help our students succeed.
In the end, the PTA meeeting wasn't just about supporting students in their academic journey, it was about creating community where we all work together to help each child unlock their full potential. And I am grateful to be part of that community.

Yes you are right. Thank you for stopping by. 🤗
PTA meeting was always not my favorite meetings, I would always prayed that I would not be one of the officer's because I am lazy now to do school responsibilities. I been through on being officer's and that's extra work for me.
Some parents really don’t want to be an officers. Lol😂 most especially if they are really too busy with their work.
There’s something powerful about seeing parents and teachers come together — not just for updates, but for the future of every child. Miss my teachers huhu.
I once was not a fond of attending meetings as I avoid responsibilities because I'm a busy person too,it just adds up to my chores😂But last week I attended a meeting for my child, and I'm glad cause I understand things that mostly parents complain because of miscommunication and not understanding the process, all was tackled in the meeting. And Guess what? I became the president😂 Well at least I understand how things works now and how important it is to support both child and the Teacher❤️
I can relate to this. Keep up the good work teach. It's so important to keep updated with our students and parents so they may be aware of what are the development/improvement they can share to the school
