A Day Out with Creative Juices!

It was that time of the year. The time to restock on food and stuff. I would love to say I do this quarterly but that would be a lie. I do it when I have the means to. The means meaning money. With the way the prices of things are going, I had to cut down on quantities of most of the food items and substitute others for cheaper brands.

I think the only commodity that dropped in price was gas. That only because it is the Ramadan period and this RANO guy seems to give lesser prices during this time. I hoped it would be lesser than what I got it at N1,070/kg. The last time it was about N980/kg. Compared to other stations that sold at N1,400 or N1,450 this seemed the best deal.

I have always wanted to own a land. It is one of my goals. Land. A necessary asset. I caught this one and noticed that it has been burned in preparation for planting. During the rainy season, it is a vibrant green with plants.

I have been more indoors the past days. With school and work, especially the necessary day to day billing, it is no wonder I can't bear the heat. I will stay in all day because I just can't stand that sun. The upside is that after the necessary chores on and offline, I and my cousin relax to movies and books.

She has been on a particular Mafia romance and I was enthralled with Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda. After that, we watch some anime together, laughing and jesting with food in our mouths. Then we sleep. For the record, my cousin is a fashion designer and illustrator. She designs and creates. I am trying to get her signed up on Hive. She has been able to snag up the attention of some clients.

Even as she prepares for school, she takes her passion very seriously. Once her creative juices start flowing, she is fixated on her sketchpad for hours on end. Even when she takes to the sewing machine, she is like a statue. She is focused and dedicated that my mom, like she does with me when I get carried away on my laptop, would slap her at the back to wake her up and get her to eat and bath. I guess the trait runs in the family. My cousin, Uche, has a focus that is almost unhealthy. She sewed a gown in one night.

All that said, my savings are pretty much in shambles. I had to buy food and restock the house. Other than that, I used my USDC like I said I would and back to school now. Now, we start all over again.
