Victorious Experiments
Hi battle mages, we’re in a new week of the social media challenge, and this week, I want to share with your guys a battle I won purely from experimenting (and maybe a little bit of luck).
For a very long time since I’ve been playing splinterlands, I’ve limited myself to about 7-8 summoners, and these summoners summon monsters I’m very familiar with using. Because of that, it’s difficult for me to play certain rulesets, because my deck is made of monsters I am familiar with using for melee and magic battles. I’m not sure why, but I don’t like using ranged attacks. Because of this, I always lose ranged battles since I don’t have the best ranged battle-friendly summoners and monsters.
Today, however, by some divine intervention, I went into the market and rented 4 new summoners! I’ve tested two of them and they do some really cool stuff! The battle I’m going to share with you today actually utilizes one of the new summoners, and a few new monsters I’m also trying out. So you’ll be hearing monsters I don’t usually mention in any of my posts.

To be honest with you, this entire battle was just one big experiment. I mean, I put some planning into the battle, but I like to think that for the most part, what won me the battle was my summoner.
I chose to use Eternal Tofu as my summoner. This is one of the unusual summoners you’ve never heard me mention in any of my posts. I rented him like 5 minutes before this battle and just decided this was a perfect opportunity to try him out. One of the things I liked about him was the several options of abilities to choose from. I knew that no matter that, I’ll be at some sort of advantage. Why I chose him specifically though was for a number of reasons.
First, it gave my monsters 2 extra health units. This was important especially since the ranged attackers I thought of selecting were low health monsters. Of course, snare would be lovely incase my opponent brought flying monsters. But more importantly, the two abilities because of which I had to choose Eternal Tofu were the Triage and Scavenger ability it would give to one unit on my line up. Knowing that my monsters are low health monsters, the scavenger ability was like a way to give one of my monsters self-healing ability. Add the triage to that, and it only heals other monsters in my line up. Jackpot!
For my tank, I chose Anachron Bolter. I was looking for a low mana flank to use since it could attack in first position unlike most ranged monsters. But when I saw Anachron Bolter, I changed my mind because it had good health, dual attack options and Headwings ability, which would be extremely useful in this ruleset.
Swell Spore Beast | Goblin Tower |
---|---|
Now I’m going to be honest with you and tell you that I had no particular reason for choosing Swell Spore Beast and Goblin Tower on my line up. I just put them there because I had extra mana that needed to be used and I was running out of options. They had the higher attack stats among the other ranged attackers, so I figured I’d give them a go. Wait, I guess that’s a reason after all.
You know why I put Pellacor Arbalest on my line up, don’t you? His double strike was something I definitely wanted on my team. Before I played this battle, my opponents had put him in my face a lot this morning, so I had to take note of him by force, and planned to use him in my subsequent battle.
Finally, I chose Gobson Sniper because of his snipe and cripple ability, and his average health. I haven’t mentioned which monster I’m giving the scavenger and triage to yet, so since this is my last monster, you guessed right. I gave him scavenger specifically because he was in last position and I had a feeling my opponent might try to snipe at me. So this way, He could take the snipes for the team, whiles continuously kept afloat by the damage the other monsters are causing to my opponents.
The Battle
The battle was a rather short one. I think it’s because of how powerful and buffed up my line up was. My opponents just didn’t stand a chance. I completely obliterated them by the 3rd round. I’ll leave the link here if you want to watch it.
Thanks for reading this far, and I’ll see you in the next one.

Oh man the brave tofu summoner is a killer but for some reason I don't want to rent it. This time I am trying to play spl without putting in any investment. So far so good as I am investing a chunk of my time into it.
Well, I think you are still in bronze right? You should make more time for spl my friend.
