100% or Nothing? I'm Here Because I'm not All There!
I suppose it would only be fair to "preamble" a bit by admitting that my thoughts, feelings and choices are often informed by the generally scattered ways of my ADHD-ish brain, and the passing of time has gradually taught me that I am definitely not representative of the greater population. Hence, I have grown accustomed to the blank looks and raised eyebrows when I start to "go off" on something.
/end disclaimer...
Anyway... I often find myself puzzled by what I can only think of as rabid attachments to a single thing, to the exclusion and condemnation of all others... a human trend that sadly seems to have grown increasingly common in this world of ours.
It's everywhere, from politics to religion to hobbies and we needn't even look further than our own "back yard" at Bitcoin maximalists and Hive community members who actively avoid and reject all things Facebook, twitter X, Instagram and whatever.
"No, I will not only NOT accept your Facebook friend request, but I am muting you for even asking and speaking the name of the enemy!"
MY paradigm is GOD and everything else is pure manure...
Subsequently, there's the long lecture about how this same person wants whirled peas, tolerance and harmony. As long as it is their way.
Well, isn't that just the entire Human Condition?
Anyway, I ended up reflecting on some of the ironic twists and turns in this entire ball of wax... remembering how I pretty much left Facebook for "Hive 1.0" for the very reason of the shrill intolerance and bad behavior that became so prevalent and common during the latter stages of the 2016 US Presidential election.
Maybe it was a vain (and naive) hope that anywhere would be better, because... "isn't that just the entire Human Condition?"
So yes, I will be your Facebook Friend, if that's what floats your boat... and I do still use twitter on occasion, and not everything centralized is an evil empire's attempt to control the world.
So what's my point, here?
Well — to the extent that I have one — my point is that we all are responsible for creating our own paradigm, and that paradigm is uniquely ours. I prefer to use a system to create that paradigm, rather than spending my life fighting against the system.
My experience has been that effectuating change from within is a lot easier — and less hazardous to your well-being — than tilting at windmills in the existing world.
Which takes me to being 63% here, 21% somewhere else and maybe the remaining 16% some third place. And that's really OK, by my paradigm... and those who are dead set against such a division might to well to examine their own reasons for adhering so fervently to just one thing.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great remainder of your week!

One thing that made me leave Facebook was negative posts. A lot of people spread negativity on there and it does not make any sense to me
It got really bad during 2016... and I have not seen a lot of change since then. Seemed like the 2016 US election brought out the worst in many people's personalities. Very divisive.
Use the tools at your disposal whichever you feel comfortable with. In this platform one feels more positive, actual real life comments, occasionally making friends, it's who you select to mingle with.
Ebb and flow of people coming and going is like a fashion parade, slot in where you comfortable or dust off and move on.
!LOLZ Everything electronic is switched off around 18h00 my time, exclusively time for brain to absorb and relax.

I like the idea of "non-electronics time;" might have to consider that. Generally, we shut it down between our afternoon coffeetime around 17:00 and somewhat after dinner, maybe 21:30 or so. Since I have business worldwide, I often end up using the last couple of hours to communicate with people who are just getting up before I head off to bed.
Once I have cooked dinner everything is switched off to unwind under the start a little, hang onto sanity !LOLZ
