RE: Appreciation

Every day of mine begins and ends with hope for our victory. But... it's not like before. I do not believe those our media, which hypes up promises of a quick victory. And I believe that after the first few months, it is a crime to give people vain hope that our leaders distribute the right and left.
I remember in Hivefest I said to you that I expect Ukraine to win soon. I regret saying that, although I believed it to be true. I underestimated the capacity for Russian society to doggedly cling to delusions, and their unwillingness to take any sort of action against their government even when it clearly is destroying their own livelihoods and future prospects.
Germany lost WWII many years before the war ended in their outright defeat. It seems like Russia is continuing to cling to such delusions long after it is clear that they have lost.
Yes, I remember how at the beginning of the war many people on Hive wrote me that they believed it would soon be over. I was inside the process, and it was difficult for me to imagine a quick end. But I believed that it would happen this year. Looks like I was wrong too.
As for Russia, it is a totalitarian country, everything is different there. Sometimes I come across people who are so zombified that it's hard to believe. And I think that even the end of Putin's rule and some conditional political spring will not change their thinking.
Russians were never democratic. Its a western notion they never accepted. Like China, the far east worships centralized power. They lost and will keep losing because only a free mind is a strong mind.
Now there are all sorts of non-Ukranian forces that will want to envade Russia. Dont do it. Free Crimea and eastern Ukraine but don't go into Russia. That will prove Ukraines supirior moral.
