DemoniCore: Forging a new Demon with game character designer venapboyz

One of the best parts of building a game on HIVE is the community that grows around it. Things can happen organically that you don't expect, and that's what this post is about!

Recently, artist @venapboyz, who's currently studying character design for games, reached out to me on the DemoniCore Discord. He was looking for a project to apply his skills to and was interested in creating a new character for the game. I was impressed by his initiative and honored that he chose DemoniCore, so I was immediately on board with the idea of a collaboration.

We decided the best place to start would be a new demon for players to battle. To give him a solid foundation to work from, I shared some of the deeper DemoniCore lore with him - stuff that I'd been thinking through that hasn't made it into the game yet. He took those concepts and came back with some seriously cool and formidable designs.

He started with these four black and white sketches, which were impressive on their own:

More recently, he sent over a colorized version of one of them, and the design really nails the aesthetic we're building for the game.

We're still in the process, but the goal is to develop one of these designs into a full-fledged in-game demon. It will have its own unique story and possibly involve gameplay mechanics that tie directly into its lore.

Huge props to @venapboyz for his passion and talent. It's been great working with him so far, and I'm excited to see where we take this.
