Hoy compartirles una parte emocionante de mi vida. Tengo un hijo de 7 años llamado Drake Josue Rodríguez Ramírez, a quien cariñosamente llamo "El Niño Maravilla". Su llegada al mundo cambió por completo mi vida.

Drake es un niño alegre, cariñoso y con un carisma que enamora a todos a su alrededor. Hace tres años, decidí llevarlo al parque en un viernes por la tarde para disfrutar de un día diferente. Jugamos a las escondidas, anduvimos en bicicleta y, finalmente, estábamos jugando a la pelota.

Recuerdo claramente el momento en que golpeé la pelota fuertemente, enviándola al campo de béisbol. Llevé a mi hijo hasta allí, y fue en ese instante que tuvo su primer encuentro con una bola de béisbol. Desde entonces, se enamoró por completo de ese deporte.

Las personas que jugaban en ese momento le dieron la oportunidad de sostener un bate enorme y superpesado para él. A pesar de sus cuatro años de edad, él lo tomó con entusiasmo y sin temor, demostrando una actitud que me llenó de orgullo. Con una sonrisa en su rostro, me dijo que quería ser el mejor pelotero.

El béisbol se convirtió en más que un juego para él; se convirtió en una pasión que encendió su espíritu desde muy joven. Su amor por el deporte se reflejaba en cada juego, en cada práctica, y en cada momento en el campo. Cada vez que cogía el bate o se colocaba detrás del plato como catcher, sus ojos brillaban con determinación y felicidad.

Aunque mi trabajo me mantenía ocupado y pasaba poco tiempo con él, el amor de padre me hizo comprender que ese era el sueño de mi hijo. No fue fácil al principio, ya que era muy pequeño para el béisbol, pero encontramos una escuela donde podría entrenar: la Escuela de Béisbol Menor "Family Sport" con el lema "In God We Trust".

Durante los cuatro años que han pasado desde que mi hijo ingresó a esta escuela, ha experimentado numerosos triunfos y ha viajado a varios estados del país. Su vida ha sido una montaña rusa llena de emociones, alegrías y tristezas, ya que han enfrentado momentos difíciles debido a la falta de recursos económicos.

A pesar de las dificultades, mi hijo ha participado en importantes eventos, como el reciente Campeonato Vacacional 2023, donde se consagraron como campeones de la Liga Libertador en la categoría de formación. Actualmente, juega como catcher, llevando el número #9 en su espalda con un desempeño impresionante.

A través de su amor por el béisbol, mi hijo ha encontrado no solo un deporte, sino una fuente inagotable de emociones, disciplina y sueños cumplidos. Aunque no tengo todo el dinero del mundo, siempre estaré allí para apoyar a mi hijo en la búsqueda de sus metas y sueños. Su deseo de convertirse en un pelotero profesional es una carga que estoy dispuesto a llevar. Por ese niño, soy su vida.

Today I want to share with you an exciting part of my life. I have a 7 year old son named Drake Josue Rodriguez Ramirez, who I affectionately call "El Niño Maravilla". His arrival into the world completely changed my life.

Drake is a cheerful, affectionate child with a charisma that makes everyone around him fall in love. Three years ago, I decided to take him to the park on a Friday afternoon to enjoy a different kind of day. We played hide and seek, rode bikes and finally we were playing ball.

I clearly remember the moment when I hit the ball hard, sending it into the baseball field. I took my son there, and it was at that instant that he had his first encounter with a baseball. From then on, he completely fell in love with the sport.

The people playing at the time gave him the opportunity to hold a huge, super heavy bat for him. Despite his four years of age, he took to it with enthusiasm and fearlessness, demonstrating an attitude that filled me with pride. With a smile on his face, he told me he wanted to be the best ballplayer.

Baseball became more than a game to him; it became a passion that ignited his spirit from a very young age. His love for the sport was reflected in every game, every practice, and every moment on the field. Every time he picked up the bat or stepped behind the plate as a catcher, his eyes would sparkle with determination and happiness.

Although my job kept me busy and I spent little time with him, fatherly love made me realize that this was my son's dream. It was not easy at first, as he was too young for baseball, but we found a school where he could train: the "Family Sport" Minor Baseball School with the motto "In God We Trust".

During the four years since my son joined this school, he has experienced numerous triumphs and has traveled to several states across the country. His life has been a roller coaster full of emotions, joys and sorrows, as they have faced difficult moments due to the lack of economic resources.

Despite the difficulties, my son has participated in important events, such as the recent Vacacional 2023 Championship, where they were crowned champions of the Libertador League in the training category. Currently, he plays catcher, wearing the number #9 on his back with an impressive performance.

Through his love of baseball, my son has found not only a sport, but an endless source of excitement, discipline and fulfilled dreams. Although I don't have all the money in the world, I will always be there to support my son in the pursuit of his goals and dreams. His desire to become a professional baseball player is a burden I am willing to carry. For that child, I am his life.

He is a part of me and I am a part of him together we make a great team!
