Zapfic50 Monday Prompt: Modest (remembered as the first name of a favorite composer; music included!)
(Edited)
He took his inspiration from the field marshal in Modest Mussorgsky's Songs and Dances of Death. Many community members had died fighting the company that had poisoned the town's soil. Now, their heir, grown as a lawyer, would legally stamp the poisoners into their own ground, never to rise again!

Vengeance and justice the legal way. How better to honor his ancestors. The perpetrators knowingly caused harm, but didn't care about the common folks. Their just desserts was served up righteously.

Thank you ... many years ago I heard that song by Modest Mussorgsky, and it stayed in my mind that although not having a resurrection in one way would indeed be terrible, there are some things that need to hear the Field Marshal singing to them and feel his feet at work (and Isaiah 63 suggests that's not ENTIRELY a fictional idea).
