A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words (Or, Exactly Fifty): The Story of an Old, Old Song of May...

Source

What I see: A magnificent forest road, with the trees in their golden-green new leaves -- the data on the source of the photo tells me this is a photo taken in May

What I feel: There is a 200-year-old song in German about a young man about to begin a journey in the wondrously shining month of May ... now I know where he was when he was thinking about what he was thinking about -- music below the word count!

It was the wondrously shining month of May; the trees were in May's golden-green, and a young man walked with a childhood friend with a new feeling burning in his heart.
If he told her, where would this road lead?
He knew: there was only one way to find out.

Enjoy Peter Schreier singing the song by Robert Schumann that partially inspired this post, and imagine how the story will go for yourself from the music ... will she respond in love, or will he get his hopes dashed?

I imagine myself taking my time walking in those woods through this music... uncertain, yet hopeful. So I think in the story, it's going to be quite a journey, but he's right to feel hopeful. <3

It takes a BUNCH of songs after that to finish that journey -- but your interpretation is spot on: uncertain, but hopeful!

The entire journey: Schumann's Dichterliebe ...

... almost 30 minutes for a really good walk!

I love the photo. Look, everything is green and beautiful. Imagine I'm part of the content. I'll take out the bed and sleep there, have some fun, but you'll wait for me there.

If only I get to witness and experience such lovely place.
I wouldn't mind trying to find out where it leads though lol

My love for photography is another thing that I can't seem to put off. And nice song by the way.
