A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words (Or, Exactly Fifty): It's What You Don't See (in the Mirror) that Gets You

What I see: A man of high rank who looks crazy, but is enjoying his reflection in the mirror. However, the reflection does not show the top of that dagger the dismembering hand is gripping, just as it does not show the candle he is gripping in a perfectly lit room.

What I feel: If the mirror on the wall is NOT showing you something, you are in trouble. You just don't know it yet.

“Mirror, mirror, quick and fast – show me vic'try, had at last!”
Milady Maleficent's mirror obliged by not showing him the dagger in the hand that would carve a line across his throat.
Milady later smiled triumphantly upon finding Lord Looney dead, her pretense at defeat and retreat having worked.

Sure the man actually looks like a man with high rank. Smart thinking

A wicked prince with a touch of madness, and vanity that is deadly ... to him!

You killed it in just 50 words, ha ha ha.... Gotta watch out for girls and their mirrors.

The specific "girl" there is the wicked witch who poisoned Snow White for being the fairest of them all ... gotta be careful when we call grown women "girls" ...

If you ask me he does not only look crazy...I like happy ends and this is definitely one. 🤣

Oh, definitely much more ... had I fleshed him out, there was a LOT that could have been said, but when I saw the dagger did not show up in his reflection, I knew he was also VAIN (he didn't see it, but it was there), and that would be his undoing!
