A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words: Adler's Dream Ride

What I see: A man with a mountain bike, on a narrow ridge after a face has collapsed all around him. The mountains look like Western United States-type, but that ridge reminds me of an approach to the summit of Mt. Everest that is so narrow that one wrong step either way leads to a falling tour of a face of the mountain for several thousand feet.

What I feel: People have skied down Mt. Everest. So, then, a ride?

As a child Adler dreamed of climbing Mt. Everest, but became a mountain biker in the Rockies.
His adult dreams took him to that one narrow Everest summit approach where one wrong move led to a fall of thousands of feet.
It was Adler's dream. Of course, he never fell!

If you are referring to Alfred Adler, his reasoning of chasm and peak would lead him to experience the view from the bottom of to determine if it is a cliff, it is a large, steep rock. And from above, he would check the bottom to rule out that it was a cliff.

I wonder if you are referring to Guido Adler, as the founder of musicology. But I also remember a mathematician, Roy Adler… I would like to know…

I picked the name because if I have remembered my German correctly, Adler means "eagle," and I first learned the name from Irene Adler, one of only five people to ever out-think Sherlock Holmes.

Certainly in German it is “Adler” the wild eagle and “Steinadler” the golden eagle. Much appreciated for the clarification.

Is that a real photo or AI, looks scary to be riding a bike there though.

The power of dreams and the determination to make them a reality! Adler is braver than I because I'm not sure I can manage a bike on that narrow ridge. I'd be scared witless! 😄

A lovely zapfic.

Thank you so much -- I'm with you, actually -- but I would watch Adler like I watch climbers of Everest online, with admiration!

His dreams came true at the end, he never fell means he won in his quest.

Adler was a daredevil to have dreamt and made that dream a reality. He eventually made it to Everest.

Seems like you know so much about places, like the Everest you just mentioned. You must be a traveler.

It sounds as if he made two dreams come true. It's good to know he didn't fall.

Of the two, there is some debate which is more dangerous, mountain climbing or mountain biking. It was a good thing that Adler only dreamed of climbing one of the most dangerous mountain in the world. That way, he would be assured of never falling.

Thanks for sharing this story. Take care.
